Vacuum Cleaner Suggestions/Help Please!

We have a black lab that we got about three months ago, she's an angel but the shedding is insane! We have a regular 100.00 Dirt Devil vacuum cleaner that I have had about 6 months but I definitely need something more with all of this hair. I have read about the Dyson Animal and while it's impressive I'm not in the market for a $400.00 vacuum cleaner right now. Has anyone got other suggestions? Something more reasonably priced that's effective for lots of pet hair (we have two cats too!)?

Go to Sears and price the WindTunnel. If you know of a store that has the vaccuum you want cheaper, Sears will look it up online and match the price for you. I like Sears as the return policy is great for vaccuums in case you should have any problems!
(I tape the receipt for the vaccuum inside the vaccuum's door so that I have it if I ever need it!)

I love my Hoover Windtunnel. It think it was about $270 at Lowes but I had a 10% coupon. It was the model that Consumer Reports rated a top buy.

My best friend swears by her Dyson and she has a cat and a dog she's always vacuuming up after.

It made me sick when we bought the Dyson (yellow, not the animal) - I hated spending that much money on something I didn't even like doing!! But we have a retreiver and my sister swore on her Dyson (and dog). I love it. If you can afford it, go for it. You won't regret it. It's great for carpet and wood floors. I don't even mind using it! Neither does my husband! It always amazes me to see how much hair and dirt I can collect!
