I apologize in advance if this question has already been asked. Will Disney cruise line give a religious vaccine exemption? Please no debate about this - I am fully vaccinated and am only asking because someone in my party has a legitimate religious reason for an exemption. Thank you!

Where are you traveling out of? For the bahamas routes they don't have an ability to give an exemption from my understanding. For the mexico routes I am not sure if anything has been outlined other than vaccination requirement.

You would need to call Disney to verify.

Carnival is the only one that I know of that is giving any sort of process to exemptions but have to be honest I didn't look that closely. Even for Carnival its not just a "yes" its a process and they can still reject your request.

While we are at it let’s include this part of Bahamian order “Any person who is ineligible for the COVID-19 vaccination due to medical contraindications is exempt from this requirement.” I have not seen any exception for religious or medical contradictions on DCL website. Has anyone inquired with DCL or know the answer?

We would be starting from Port Canavaral and traveling to Bahamas. The cruise is in February, and I may cancel it. There are just too many variables to consider.

Disney doesn’t really have the ability to consider exemptions. The current requirement for vaccines is due to foreign port requirements. If those ports don’t allow for a religious exemption, Disney’s hands are tied. I have not read of religious exemptions allowed under any of the foreign port orders.

Here is the text of the Executive Order from webpage of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Bahamas: https://opm.gov.bs/emergency-powers...ment-and-recoveryno-2amendmentno-8order-2021/

On the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism website covid travel information page, cruise passengers page, it states:

"Please note: Effective Friday, September 3, 2021, all cruise ship passengers ages 12 and older must be fully vaccinated to enter a port in The Bahamas, including a cruise line’s private island. Any person who is ineligible for the COVID-19 vaccination due to medical contraindications is exempt from this requirement."

One would have to contact DCL to determine how DCL is (or is not) handling possible medical exemptions, but the government of the Bahamas does not appear to have any allowance for religious exemptions.

This isn't a basic need like job or public education, it's a luxury cruise. Not saying the person in your party doesn't legitimately have a religious exemption, but let's be honest, you open that up and all of a sudden a bunch of anti-vaxxers are incredibly religious.

Exactly. And like others have said, Disney has no say in the matter. It is the governments of the ports. And in many other nations, religion beliefs are not even considered.

The Bahamas do not follow US rules around disability access or freedom of religion. DCL has no say in Bahamian rules.
Same for a big chunk of the world. On our Disney cruise I eavesdropped on a friendly and interesting conversation between two Officers and an International passenger about smoking policy on the ship. The International guest talked about how limiting where people can smoke would put you in jail in his homeland.

Or could it could be that the incredibly religious are anti-vax?

In my circle the only folks who aren't vaccinated are the most devout due to Church teaching on the derivation of the current crop of vaccines.

To the OP: sorry. Sounds like there won't be an exception based on what the Bahamas has said, but will hopefully change soon.

well good news, even the Pope has said the vaccines are morally acceptable so I'm assuming we can expect these devout souls to be vaccinated soon.

dont turn this into a religious discussion. public health doesnt care whether you believe in god or Cthulhu so hopefully there will never be a religious exemption to any vaccine.

The OP asked if there was a religious exemption, and someone else had made a remark about people becoming suddenly religious if there was. I was just providing some background. Calm down.

In the end testing is the most important thing. People being vaccinated or not while it has a large impact on society has little impact on group events.

Guess we can't have medical exemptions either because that can be forged as well.

Lets realize you are talking about likely 1-5% of the population.

The Pope is the leader of ONE religion - there is nothing in the OP or the quote you posted to suggest that the people being referred to are of that religion.
