Thanks for the info on vacation homes everyone! It looks like homes close to both parks are not likely. So, I've had another idea that I'm wondering about. My concern with a vacation home and the distance from Universal is that we have several small children that require a break during the day. I'm thinking that if we have a 45 minute drive to and from a home and have a 2hour rest as well we will loose a big part of the park day, especially as we will be there in December when the park days are shorter.

So, here is the idea. I'm thinking that I may look into a cheap hotel room on priceline or other bid site ands get something in the $25-30 range just for those 5 days and use it only for a nap break and perhaps a swim in the middle if the day. Has anyone tried this? It seems like it might be money well spent if we have a nice home to return to at the end of the day but still have a place to unwind mid afternoon.

I would welcome your thoughts and also suggestions on accomodations both cheap and close to Universal. The only requirements would be clean and a decent pool.
