vacation without kids

My husband and I like to take a vacation once a year for 5 days without our two children 5 & 7. I am looking for ideas. We've been to Las Vegas; New Orleands; Amelia Island. Also, we are going to Disney in July with them or else that would ahve been a consideration. Any ideas for great adult get aways would be appreciated. We are kinda on a budget of between $1,000 - $1,200.

Oh and DH and I are both teachers so we can't vacation until end of June.

We are taking our first Disney cruise in March without the kids. It's our 20th anniversary. The kids are not happy about it but for 20 years I think we deserve it. And it's in your price range. (3 night cruise)

What about a quickie cruise?

You might find an excellent deal in that price range inclusive of airfare (depending on where you are flying from).

Carnival has many deals especially and if you are not particular to location--that opens many doors for you.

Any recommendation for places to stay in Bermuda?

I haven't visited there in a number of years, but I think at the time, the Elbow Bay Beach Resort was a nice hotel on the beach. If you like beaches, you'll want to make sure that the hotel is on the beach. There are some hotels that are on Hamilton Bay, but they may not have beaches/water access and then you'll have to take transportation to the beaches.

Are you sure you don't want to consider Disney? We've done it with our kids and without and it's 2 different experiences. I'd also say a quick cruise. We did the Disney 4 day without the kids and managed to book the mud bath and it was fun I don't know if they still offer it tho. There looks to be alot to do on other lines as well and most offer 3 to 5 day cruises.

Well lets not push this Disney thing on them because their friends would be INSANLEY jealous if they went without kids but also without their friends.

I've heard of that place; kinda overrated. But good company at times

We are doing Disney for our quick get away with out the kids. I never thought I would before, but we have AP's and DVC so with those and cheap SW airfare, it really is the cheapest trip we could do (and we know we will have a great time.) Also since the kids already went I don't feel so bad about going with out them. However since you have to go when school is out maybe not.
