So the day started early! We wanted to be at MK for opening. We left Grumpy at the room because it was his vacation too and he was sleeping in!! By this point in the vacation I was happy to leave him behind. Let me give you a little background, I walk kind of slow on an everyday basis and Grumpy is always complaining about it. Well at Disney, he was always atleast 10 feet behind me. So Grumpy slept and the girls headed to MK.

We were waiting by one of the big trees for the big show. The opening was magical. A whoe family was on the train and we ran into them later in the day. They were so excited, their son had down syndrom and they said it was the most magical thing ever for him to have that quality time with Mickey. It gave me a really neat feeling that I had seen them early in the day and I love that Disney gives people this opportunity!!

Another great DIS tip GET UP EARLY AND GET TO THE PARK! It really makes a difference. We were able to ride all the big rides early, Splash, BTM railroad, It's a small world, Pirates, Peter Pan and lots of others with no wait!! We just walked on. Around 11:30 Grumpy called to see what was up! By this point we were ready to go and told him that we would meet him at Disney Quest!!!

Let me tell you my 6 year old LOVED Quest. It was awesome. It was so empty. We had the whole place practically to ourself. We did the bumpercars which were fun and Pirates of the Caribean was really neat even though our boat sank. If you are looking for internet access, you can use computers at Quest. I was suffering from withdraw. They had floors of older video games, such as Burger Time (DD's favorite), Qbert, Pac-man. I even tried Dance Revolution, did I mention that I have no rhythm. I highly recommend Quest to everyone who likes video games old or new!! They even had skeet ball or airhockey!!! It was a blast.

After Quest, we went back to the MK to see Spectromagic finally!!!! Grumpy didn't want to sit and wait for the parade so we rode Space Mountain, Buzz and a few others. I kept telling him that it was going to be impossible to get a good view but he didn't believe me!! Chalk another one up for me, when we walked to the Castle, the crowd was HUGE and Grumpy said "Forget It" I went :earseek: (berzerk). I was going to see this parade if it was the last thing I did. I scooped up DD who isn't small, she's about half my size and we made our way to Frontier Land where I thought that I'd have a better shot of getting close. I was still 10 FEET ahead of Grumpy with Alex in my arms!!!!!

We make it to Frontierland and these very very very nice people from Finland let my daughter stand with their kids right up front. We could all see perfectly!! I was so happy that I had made the trek over to Frontier Land, not to mention that I had walked off lunch and dinner :goodvibes

So I finally got to see Spectomagic!!!

I have a "Grumpy" in my house too. I decided several years ago that I and the kids would go to WDW without him for the first few days of the vacation. Then my DH comes along for the last few days. It worked out great! Everyone is happy, the kids and I get to have a wonderful vacation without the complaining and DH gets just enough to have the fun part of the vacation (we've already went on all of the "must do" rides, parades, and shows, so we take it much slower when he's there). By the time he turns into "Grumpy," it's time to go home! :earboy2:
