Vacation with DVC points

I am a DVC member, booked my trip using my points in August 2019 for 2020 trip. I had to change in a week to next trip because of our friends.
now we want to change to 2022, they are saying that is a third change and you have to pay penalty. Is that right.

If you’re asking about a penalty because of using DVC points, the DVC forums might be more helpful for you. Don’t know if DVC has any parameters on that with their points.

Something sounds off here, first off you definitely couldn't book for 2022 yet, except at your home resort and only the beginning of the year.

That aside, I don't know of any rule that would prohibit you from rebooking. Now if it involves banked points, you might loose some that are set to expire as they can't be banked again, but there isn't any charge for changing or canceling a reservation.

I think the OP used their points for a 2020 ABD trip which was rescheduled once and now they want to make another change.

More info would help including UY, home resort, and actual dates.

But, if you booked something other than a DVC resort, different rules are apply so if that is the case, sharing the specifics would help too
