Vacation Village @ Parkway - Major Raves & Questions!

you will not be disappointed in VV at Parkway.....not a lot of amenities onsite, but the accomodations are better than average especially if you are in side A

it is close to Disney also, summer bay is a ways out on 192, fairfield is not too much further than VV

we have one booked for tomorrow at VV A side ......november 12

remember that getawayweeks is last minute from RCI inventory, thus it is constantly changing...

thanks lawgs...
hope you have fun on your vaca! :wizard:
I checked tonight and lo and behold a 2 bedroom was available so I am one lucky and happy camper....Vacation Village at Parkway here I come.

Do post a trip report when you get back lawgs...give me the lowdown on what , if any, requests I should make. Course, I 'm getting in at midnight so I might be getting the last room at the inn!

you really have some mouse magic.....

very rarely does a two bedroom show up at VV anymore, since they can make more $$$$ by spliting the two units up.....most of the time all that shows are the one bedroom partial kitchens....

well i think i can give you something to ruminate on.....this was posted on TUG by Vodo

Is there anything specific you would like to know? The units are very nice, although they skipped some of the little fru-fru items like silk plants, pottery, etc. I would not book anything there other than a 2BR or a 1BR with a full kitchen. The 1BR with a partial kitchen is small (though still nice) and is missing some of the better perks, like a jacuzzi tub. The 2BR's are lockoff combinations of a 1BR with full kitchen and a 1BR with partial kitchen.

There is no security gate. Amenities include a couple of pools, a nice little playground, a barbecue area with picnic tables, a small nature trail, a fitness center and an internet room. The last two (fitness center and internet room) are located in the check-in building which is across the street from the units and up closer to 192. There are regular parking lots, but also some open garages which are first come-first served (these are particularly nice during hot summer months since your vehicle stays cool under shelter). Customer service is very good; extremely friendly staff.

The newest buildings are the farthest from the primary amenities, located at the back of the property past Arabian Nights, and may overlook ongoing construction. If you have a Sunday check-in, you will be put in one of the new buildings unless you can convince them otherwise. If you have a Friday check-in, request Building 5. If you have a Saturday check-in, request Building 6. Those are the newest buildings in the original phase and are in excellent shape. Also, Building 5 (and probably Building 6 too) has large screen projection televisions. The newest buildings have standard 35"-ish tube televisions. Lastly, the buildings are designed with interior hotel-like corridors; therefore, there are units on both sides of each building. Our initial request was for a pool view rather than a parking lot view on the top floor. However, they could only give us a top floor unit on the parking lot side. This turned out to be a good thing. Even on the top floor, noise carries from the pool/playground area. The parking lot view not only let us avoid the extra noise, but it overlooked a nice little wooded area beyond the parking lot, gave us a view of Arabian Nights (which is kind of pretty at night), and also provided a great vantage point for nightly fireworks from one of the theme parks (maybe Epcot?).

Hope this helps!

It helps a LOT.
Thank you for taking the time to share all this information.
Since I have to call them to ask for a late check in (midnight)
I think I'll just sweetly say that building 5 top floor would be wonderful!!!

And if you ever need info on DVC Boardwalk Villas...I 'll do my best to return the favor!!

Thanks again!!!!

Can anyone tell me the name of the the resort that you also have use of if you stay at VV at parkway??
Also, what wildlife can you see on the nature trail??

This thread has been incredibly informative.

Have to echo the comments others have made- we stayed there, with a trade, for Veteran's Day week in Nov...it is the cleanest place we have ever stayed, the maintanance people were always working. Our unit was not facing the pool but the Arabian Nights Blvd and the pond with the long walkway. We had a full kitchen unit, 1 bdrm. We own in Orlando for another week, and found this place was even nicer than our own. I feel most comfortable in recommending this place to anyone. Have a great time. :flower:
