Hi Folks,

Bare with me, I am new to the board! I am so excited to have been introduced to you all. Has anyone stayed at Vacation Village at Parkway? Tell me what you know.

Thanks,
Cherita

I've stayed there twice! We really enjoyed VV. It is super close to Disney and is very clean! They have a bunch of activities you can take part in, too.

Hi:
We were there in April of this year. We absolutely loved it and will return in the future. I was afraid it would not have a resort feel but I was wrong. We had four units there (two 2 bedrooms) and had such a wonderful time. We asked to be poolside and they accommodated us. The pool was so warm -- 90's easily. There was also a park through the woods to get to the main pool. We watched a movie in it one night which the kids really enjoyed. They also did free snowcones at that main pool.

While we were there they were building new units in the back and their own waterpark will be operational next year. We did not hear any noise from this construction even though we could see the crane from our parking spot.

I would not hestitate to go here. The only downside might be the distance from Walt Disney. This did not bother us at all.

What's the best way to book a stay at Vacation Village? I was thinking of staying there for 2 weeks (end of Nov/beg of Dec). I'd rather not have to attend a timeshare meeting.

Thanks for replying so quickly! I've seen on the internet that you can book units (without owning a Timeshare), I just wondered if anyone knew the cheapest way. My friend stayed there a couple of times (with her friends who have a timeshare) and she loved it. It's always nice to stay somewhere that has been personally recommended by someone!

When looking for units to rent I like the website redweek.com. You can get a guest membership to look at the site and this will allow you to see if there are any units you may be interested in renting a Vacation Village parkway. There are a number of other sites like this where owners post possible vacation rentals at timeshare resorts. Another I can think of is www.vrbo.com You can also check on ebay as sometimes you may find weeks being rented on there.
Hope this helps,

Any pictures of the waterpark? We missed that when we took a walk thru, last nov. Staying there this Nov. We bought a week in a 2 br l/o every other year on Ebay so we are now owners there.

I was just there a bit more than a month ago, in a large 1BR.

I thought it was "okay". Staff was pleasant and mostly efficient. Location, as noted, is excellent; there are only two traffic lights between you and any Disney destination. But, I thought the units were a step down from some of the better Orlando resorts. It was perfectly adequate, and I would stay there again if other options weren't available, but it's definitely not my first choice.

the cheapest would be for your friend who owns a timeshare to let you get a get a last call vacations at VV.

she can thru RCI. $259 for 1-bedroom, $284 for 2-bedroom for the entire week. (before tax)

she gets into the RCI site with her id/password. goes to vacation offers - then last call - then picks the month (it is 60 days and less before you leave) and VV.

then she lets you pick the exact day and unit - then you enter your information - name.address/ cc - sometimes it requires you to buy a guest certificiate - sometimes it does not

done it for several friends -never any trouble.

RCI only a problem if you are charging more to your friends.
