Greets Everyone,

I have been a long time reader of this forum (8 Yrs. at least) but this is my first Post.

I was hoping that I could pick some peoples Brains about Timeshare Rentals.

I found the above website and would like to know if anyone has ever used them.

Also any advice about other trustworthy sites would be a great help.We are planning a trip for this May.

Thanks for any help.

We have rented from them several times and had great luck. We have booked Orange Lake with them 4 times.

Have you checked out the DVC rental section on this site?

Thanks for your response Steelebug. :)

RAD, Honestly the points thing is a little confusing.People are only selling enough Points for a few days?

We are looking to stay 10 days or more.

Im looking at a 11 Day Stay in Lakes Resort & Spa by Westgate Resorts for Under 1k.Seems almost to good to be true.

More Feedback desired..Thanks a lot everyone.:worship:

$1K for 10 days, never mind, I don't think you'd find a DVC member to rent you something for that. But if you want to check just post in the rental subforum saying when you'd like to go and how many people and see what anyone comes back with.

Anyone else use the site mentioned in the Title of this Topic?

Trying to decide by Mon Night where we will stay,Thanks for any feedback.

I frequently rent timeshares from owners. I usually find these on the site Redweek.com. You can sign on as a guest and pay $15 to join if you find something you want to rent or TUG2.net. You can access the classified ads section without joining. Members have access to timeshare review and other info. I'm not sure this would help you for your whole stay if you don't want to move. Owner rentals are usually by the week (a seven day rental) that is typically Fri-Fri, Sat-Sat, or Sun-Sun.

Thanks for Posting Kathy,

After checking both those Sites,I decided to check Westgates Official Site one more time.I was Able to secure an Advance Reservation Rate.

It Cost 1500$ after Tax for an 11 Night Stay in a 2 Bedroom Deluxe Villa.Full Kitchen,2 Baths,Jacuzzi,Washer and Dryer.

We are so excited lol..Now to start making a list of places to Reserve Dining at.

Just Thought I share.

That sounds great. We love staying in the offsite condos --great space, ammenities, and value. I think you will have a wonderful time.

This March we are just doing a mini stay (only three nights) so will be at an offsite hotel, but we've already decided that we'll do an offsite condo again March of 2011.

Orlando is "overbuilt" when it comes to timeshares, so it's fairly easy to find a good deal there. I hope you enjoy yours - we really had no interest in vacationing until we discovered how easy it is to get Timeshare units! Much better experience than using a hotel, for us.

There's someone on Timeshare User's Group (TUG) renting out Disney points for $10/point, and you can get more than a few days there. It's pretty easy to track down how many DVC points get you what where - I think DVC posts their charts, maybe, but anyhow I found them with no effort. One ad on TUG is for 500 points, which is considerably more than a week sleeping eight in just about any DVC resort, as I recall. Personally, I think DVC units are way overpriced for what you get, but that's because they don't offer what I want. :p And maybe I haven't looked hard enough for a deal, because I'm not really that interested. But if you're willing to pay, that's one place to try.

You can also send in an offer and see what they say. A lot of TS owners end up renting out for less than they pay in yearly fees, but I don't think most DVC owners end up doing that. $10/point is lower than their MFs, though. You can read the rental ads without joining TUG, but if you want to e-mail someone with a question or to rent something you have to join, which is ten or twenty bucks.

If I rented out my DVC points at $10/point I'd cover my annual fees and have a nice little profit left over.

Awesome deal. Have a great vacation. You will enjoy having 2 bath and washer/dryer in unit. Great price too!:yay::yay::yay:

Hate to tell you this, but a lot of DIS'ers hate any timeshare associated with "Westgate". If I remember correctly, they hound you, make you come to a sales pitch meeting, and then make you feel lower than dirt if you don't buy anything.

Some say don't answer the phone in the unit, and schedule the meeting for your last day, then don't go. Make sure they can't overcharge you if you don't go. Read your fine print, maybe you don't have to attend any sales spiel, hope so!
