So anyone ever done the 90-120 minute vacation seminars in Orlando where they try and sell you something while giving you tickets to WDW for free? My sister in law wants to do this but I want to make sure it is legit. The resort is the Radisson Resort Celebration right outside of Disney World and the hotel is for 3 nights and 4 days and 4 days of adult tickets for WDW for $299.00. Anyone else done this or heard horror stories or great stories? She does not mind the seminar at all just trying to do Disney on a budget. Are the tickets real and can she add the park hopper by any chance too?

I got roped into one years ago from a man at a gas station. It was only for 3 park tickets for the price of one. When we got there, we ended up with 2 day base tickets so it was worth it to us. It ended up being closer to 3 hours though. They are VERY pushy so beware. Just say no, unless you really want to buy one :)

I may be wrong, but my understanding is that you must "qualify" for the perks and rates included with a timeshare tour. For example, if you are married or co-habitating, both spouses must attend. You must meet minimum family income requirements, etc. Basically they want to be sure that there's a chance they may be able to convince you to purchase a timeshare, and that you would be financially able to do so if the interest is there.

Just be sure that your sister in law can meet their qualifications, otherwise I think the fine print states that you can be charged a penalty on the discounted nightly rate.

It will be for a timeshare presentation. It is not likely to be only 120 minutes. Radisson being one of the larger chains, they are not likely to be TOO pushy, but it is still a grind to go through one. Under NO circumstances should you buy what is being offered. The TS market is horribly deflated right now, and what they will offer for thousands can be bought for pennies on the dollar (or less!) on the resale market.

Tickets are probably upgradeable at Disney. The only one I am aware of that is not upgradeable is the "A Touch of Magic" 2-day passes which is non-changeable.

Cheshire Figment often posts on the theme parks board that most timeshare tickets are not upgradeable - he refers to them as "Touch of Magic" tickets and says that is what many of the TS operators give out.
