The British Isles for our 25th Anniversary in 2020

Panama Canal cruise

Dream trips that you may only ever take in your imagination
African Safari

Actually planned: Disney World next January (my 17th trip.)

Will never happen: One of those Viking river (and ocean) cruises down the Rhine and/or around Italy.

* beach vacation in December
* beach vacation next summer

Upcoming Trips We'll Possibly Take that Have Been Discussed for the Near Future:
* Reelfoot Lake in the fall
* Washington, DC OR Disney World in the spring
* either a cruise or beach vacation w/ my sister & her family & my parents for my parents' 50 anniversary next summer
* Biloxi/Gulf Coast/New Orleans

Trips We'll Take Eventually:
* Key West & the Everglades
* Galveston, TX

Bucket List Trips:
* African Safari
* Havana, Cuba
* the flamingo beach in Aruba
* over water bungalow in the Maldives or some place similar

Honorable Mention:
* RV Road Trip across the US - this is a hard NO for DH, but I'm still working on him...

Actually planned (well, in planning stages) - road trip from WA to MN traveling across southern Canada and then home via sights in North and South Dakota - two states I've never visited.

Might happen - three more trips to finish visiting all 50 states. Alaska cruise, Southeast USA and Grand Canyon, fly east and rent a car for a big NE USA and SE Canada trip.

Dream Wish list - Baltic Homelands cruise with Viking, Iceland, Australia ... I fully intend on doing each of these some day.

Will never happen - river rafting/camping trip. I've always wanted to do this, but I have horrible allergies. I'd always hoped they would get better as I age, but now I'm having shoulder problems etc. so it's looking like this one will never happen.

Dream: A Tour of all of Europe.

Upcoming trips you're actually planning
WDW this September.

Bucket-list trips you'll possibly take

My DH and I made a point to take our bucket list trips sooner than later, so those are already done. Other trips that rattle around in the forefront of my brain:

Quick and easy... Rwanda, Paris/Disney, Jordan.
A bit more involved... Indonesia/Malaysia, Cambodia/Vietnam, Galapagos, Madagascar, India, Australia.

Dream trips that you may only ever take in your imagination
When it comes to travel, everything’s a possibility. I refuse to think of anything as only in my imagination. :-)

Upcoming trip: Leaving on Wednesday
African Safari-Kenya & Tanzania

Trips still in the planning for next year/researching phase:
Vietnam/Cambodia/Thailand
California Coast w/ Disneyland

Planning in a Few Years:
We are going to Israel in a few years for my nephew's Bar Mitzvah. We will plan an itinerary around the celebration.

Other places we are considering:
Northern Italy & Switzerland
Galapagos
Nova Scotia
Alaska
China

We want to revisit:
We want to go back to Venice & Florence; Hawaii

I thought I had an upcoming trip with dh but now I'm having second thoughts about the destination. Not sure its a good time to travel there.

We are planning a big family trip with dh's siblings and their families for next year but coordinating a week that works for everyone is very hard. It was much easier with young kids but now that they range from mid-teens to almost 30 they have their own schedules we have to work around.

We are also planning a family trip to Hawaii, but the prices are outrageous. I'm wondering if we should do something else for half the cost.

My dream trip- I would love to travel all over the US in an RV and visit the National Parks.

We just got back from a 2 week road trip around Utah/AZ and NV- have nothing else planned right now.

Bucket List- did my bucket list trip 3 years ago- a 6 week road trip around the US with just me and my then 15 year old daughter but would LOVE to do that again! Also would like to take Alaskan Cruise.

Upcoming: WDW in November and next August
Bucket-list: Disneyland Resort, Las Vegas
Dream: Tokyo Disneyland Resort, Aulani, Italy

Booked:
Jamaica all inclusive this month
Universal in December
Cruise from Hawaii next spring

Bucket List:
Tahiti
Thailand
Costa Rica
Belize
Macchu Pichu
Monaco for the Grand Prix

Bucket List completed:
Hawaii
African Safari
(I tend to return to bucket list destinations)

For those who think an African safari is out of reach, check Groupon. You can do a really nice one for about the same price as a good Disney trip.

Upcoming: A week from today a beach vacation in Fenwick Island, Delaware.
Florida likely in November, but no firm plans made yet.

Bucket list possible: Australia and New Zealand, probably after I retire in a few years

Upcoming: Nova Scotia in two weeks
NYC in October
Maui in December
London next May with possibly a Germany add on

Future trips: African Safari
Japan
everywhere else

Booked
2 lake trips this month

Planned
Colorado in October for college visits/fun

Bucket list
Silverton to Durango train ride
Return to Yellowstone & the Redwoods with the kids

Dreaming
African Safari
Return to Scotland with the kids

Planned and Booked:
1) A 5 day Christmas break cruise with our 2 college kids to the Bahamas (Carnival out of Charleston).

2) London & South Africa Safari Summer 2019
This is our bucket list last family vacation hurrah before our oldest starts his post college career.

Plan: 3 days in London followed by 9 days in the greater Kruger area. We have 2 nights booked at London House Hotel, then 5 days booked on points at the Protea Hazyview Hotel just outside Kruger Park’s Phabeni Gate. We may switch to the Protea Paul Kruger Gate if our dates become available. We have a Guided Game Drive planned with Kurt Safari mixed in with some self drives of the Southern Kruger area. We'll also have a rest day, play some golf, and take a day to do the Panoramic Route. At the end of the week, we'll self drive safari up to Tamboti Tent Camp (a SANParks camp) for 2 nights and take a Sunset Game Drive from Orpen Camp, then self drive safari out of Kruger to Shindzela, a private all inclusive safari camp, for 2 nights of semi luxury. From there we're driving back to Johannesburg and depending on flights, will maybe spend a night there.

I've budgeted about $5000 for flights, $400 for rental car, $1500 for food and gas, $500 cushion for whatever (entertainment, golf, etc), $2350 for lodging, $600 for guided drives and walks, $300 for Kruger park entry fees (some of the entry fees are covered with our lodging or game drive fee). All our lodging and some of our game drives are booked (I bought Trip insurance to cover non refundable deposits). I’m still shopping rates for the rental car and flights. I am so excited for this trip!!!

Maybe Someday Trip:
Alaskan Cruise
New Orleans

PLANNED:
Disneyland next month. We went to WDW for the first time last year, so will be interesting to get back to the park we know so well.

BUCKET LIST

My wife wants to take to me see Washington D.C. I've never been, she went as a kid, and went as a Chaperone when our daughter's Junior High School class went in 2004.
My wife wants to go back to England. We went in 2014 when our daughter was going to University there. My wife went in 1977, I went in 1976 and 1979.
I'd like to do a Pacific coast cruise that spends a day on Catalina Island. We both want to see the island, and to be honest, it's almost cheaper to do a 4 day cruise that stops on the island than to just go to the island.
I'd like to do a cruise from San Diego to Hawaii and back. The sea days between Hawaii and San Diego would be amazing.

DREAM TRIPS:

An around the world cruise.

Actually planning
DL in Sept
We're definitely going somewhere spring break - right now we have the Grand Canyon planned but that could change. It's our first trip with YDD only, ODD will be on a school trip.
Pacific NW next summer (planning it out, but it could change, too)

Trips we'll probably take
Oahu if not next summer instead of pacific NW then in the next few years
Puerto Rico when things are better there
SW - parts of Utah, New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona - we've done almost the exact trip before when we just had ODD, we'll probably do again when it's just YDD at home
A cruise - probably to Alaska again. Not really interested in Mexico or the Caribbean

Dream Trips
China
Europe

Your safari is almost here! We leave for ours on Monday. I’m all khakied up and ready to go.

Enjoy your trip.

I love travel talk. I think I missed my calling in life to be a professional traveler ;)

Upcoming: African Safari - leave Monday

On the bucket list: Bhutan, Sri Lanka, India, Peru, Nepal. I’m really interested in places that are culturally and wildlife diverse. We’ll save places like Greece, Croatia, Maldives, Zanzibar, which I want to see someday, for when we’re older and not as physically able.

Planning: Argentina. DH wants to fly fish in Bariloche/Patagonia so that will be part of the trip.
