Vacation Planning.

Can someone tell me about this job? I've read the snippet on the role sheet...but is there anyone who has worked it that can give me some insight on what you do on a daily basis? I don't have extensive knowledge about WDW resort and it's ticket media ( i don't know what you need to know exactly..) How do they handle the cash? I've been a cashier and counted drawers at the end of the night...but I'm assuming this is much larger than that. What can I expect to do? I love to orgainze and plan..so I was thinking about applying for this..but I wanted to hear about it first.

you pretty much sell tickets to the park, and other related things... obviously, you need POS experience (point of sale), and money handling as well..it's a nice job actually, air conditioned and pretty much good hours...

POS...is that like cashier...or are you referencing another type of job? That may sound airheady..ha..but I'm just making sure. Do I sell tickets and plan vacations for guests or is it just basically a ticket seller job? Would I ever plan out a vacation or no?

Selling ticket media to Guests
Strong knowledge of the Walt Disney World Resort and its ticket media
Learning computer-based ticketing systems
Handling large amounts of cash
Assisting Guests with selecting ticket packages
Stocking ticket booths with guidebooks, pamphlets, and other supplies
Assisting with audience control, including during parades
Standing for extended periods, working outdoors

to put it in perspective, think of the box office, like in the movie theaters, that is essentially what is mostly you will be doing..

Thanks. Like I said, I already read the snippet that they have for it. I just wanted a more detailed explination of what I'd be doing day to day.

I asked my interviewer at the time what it entails and she said it would be sitting in the both at the front gates and selling the tickets. Sounded really boring to me

That's what I was worried about. I was thinking like planning vacas, ect. But..I was worried it'd be selling tickets like that. I think I would get super bored with that.

My friend was a VP on our last program...he loved it. Granted you don't have the full on guest interactions, and typically don't work with many CP's. The CP website has pretty much said it all when it comes to role description. I know they would have some sort of competitions with points or something with other VP locations (he was HS)...and they would get like rewards...idk much besides that.
