Hey guys!! Just back from 3 days at DL! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Now I have to start planning my very first trip to WDW for next year. I have some questions for you pros out there. I finally got 3500 points to redeem WHEW!! Took a while. I was going to get a webbie, but I saw the vacation miles. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about it or have used it. They have a Disney vacation deal on there. For 4,375 points you get $50.00 off a tour of 99.00 or more. What exactly does that mean? What is a tour? Does that just mean your trip costs? Or do you have to buy something special thru them? Thanks for any info. Cristen

From the best I understood it, it would be $50 off a package tour that you buy through them. The small print said somehting about reviewing the brochure from the tour operator. I could not figure out a way to find out about the package before buying the certificate. So if it were my, I wouldn't do it. You can almost bet the package won't be cheap. Get the webbie, or gas cards if you're driving, or something else. I think you'd be better off and happier in the long run.

now on the webbie, can I get it like a credit card that I have with me? I thought I read that you can do that. & if I do get that can I use it toward the hotel at WDW, if it is a WDW resort? Thank you so much. Cristen

I've never gotten a webbie before, but from what I've read here and on the MyPoints site, you can get a plastic card, but it costs you. Think it's a one-time fee of 6.95 or so. Now this is if you choose the Web Certificate thing, not if you go through the Vacation Miles link. The card I believe works just like a debit card and you can use it anywhere that accepts debit cards.

Maybe someone that has actually gotten one before can add more insight on this.

It does cost $6.95 to get a plastic webbie - but well worth it IMHO if you're going to use it, and will put a lot on it. It is a mastercard, so you can use it anywhere mastercard is accepted. Read someone's post recently about dormancy fees though! I love my webbie. I use it ALL THE TIME!

and you already have hotel ressies just call the hotel and put the amount of the webbie as a deposit on your bill. THis way you just give the account # amount and exp date over the phone without actually having the plastic card all this info will be on your account page when you sset up the account.

Another way is to print out the account info page and take it to TDS and buy $DD with it. The CM has to put the # in manually but it does work!!

Sometimes a CM will say they can't do it that way Ive had that happend twice (IVe done this 6x already!!!!) so I just go to another DS or go at a differnet time. This one time the CM was great she called the automated service of MC just to verify the account!! It was all so easy!!!

Its just a few ways to save alittle $!!

If you have any ? just let me know!!

What I do is put it the points towards a web certificate, and when it arrives I go back into mypoints and buy a disney store gift card. Then when it arrives I take the giftcard to the mall and buy my Disney Dollars. In the past year I've been able to get $225.00 in Disney Dollars that way.

Thanks for all the great suggestions! I am going next year, but with a family of five & this being the first time going to WDW, we always go to DL. I know that it will cost 3X what DL costs us. So I am of course all over these boards looking for the best way to go about it all. Thanks again Cristen
