I got my 10th Anniversary VM yesterday here in Walt's home state. Very nice layout, not a lot of new news. Of course, I had to turn to look up any news about my home, the VWL.

I turn to page 17 and they have a very nice picture of VWL. I'm thinking...this is nice, they got a different angle to take a picture from for a change.

The more I look at it, the more disoriented I became until I finally figured out that they flopped the photo....it's a reverse of what is really there.

Am I nuts or is that how they got that picture. Because from the viewpoint they are showing, I don't think the VWL looks like that. Does it?

Good pick up Granny,

Just looked at the guidebook to compare, pg 99.
Pool is defintely reversed.
Hey maybe after the re=hab that's the way it will be!

Only kidding but I knew you could appreciate the joke.

Good eye Granny!

To "reverse" photos for presentation purposes is not that uncommon. When I was looking at the picture I noticed the same thing. Good comment about this being the "rehab". I just wish the VM had more useful information period. Losing it would be a cost savings in my opinion.

Shrewd pickup;) ;) !!!!!!!

I actually found the 10th anniversary VM to be rather worthless. All fluff, no substance. I can think of many other uses for my DVC dollars;) . Oh well, I guess that some have more of an artistic temperament than myself:D :D ............

I would never have noticed!

From an ex-high school photographer, that is an easy mistake to make. Our yearbook took third place at the Texas 4-A state competition and one of the four errors found by the judges in our 300 page book was photo that was reversed. There was no way to tell unless you picked up on the section letter in the stands that was backwards... Hey, you could be a yearbook judge!

In response to everyone elses comments, I agree that the lack of usefull information in the VM seems to justify its demise... On the other hand, what could they be putting in it that would be useful? What would give you a reason to read?

Soaked in Houston,

BuzzandWoody...LOL on the re-hab! :D You're right....after all my whining about the quiet pool I deserved that. ;)

As far as the VM goes, I have a slightly different take. I like the high quality photography and the "news". I don't really learn anything new since this board is so far ahead of the curve.....but I enjoy them as a nice keepsake momento for the future. I wish I had the VM's from 1992, for instance. It becomes sort of a history book of DVC as we go along.

I found the one picture of BC construction helpful. Didn't notice the reversed resort. Some rehab.....

We have not received the new edition yet, but the last edition also had a picture in reverse. It was the cover shot of the Hat for the 100 years of Magic. If you look closely the hat is at the wrong end of the street!

I thought the same thing! I was looking at the room we just stayed in only 5 short weeks ago and said "Hey, there was no balcony on that side of the brick wall!" I thought I was nuts until my DH said "You're right.... they must have reversed the photo". Maybe thats what they should do in future issues of VM have a page dedicated to "What's wrong with this Resort!" I am sure our eagle eyed pros here could find them all! :)

Granny,
I actually have kept all the VM's from the beginning... There have been a few times in the past 9 years I thought of chucking them, but I have not.. It is an interesting trip down memory lane to go back and look at the early ones.. I guess if I've kept them this long, I'll hold onto them!!!
