Vacation insurance

Does DVC have some type of insurance so if you have to cancel at the last minute for sickness you do not lose your points ? Can you allow a friend or relative to use your reservation to not let points to go to waste ? Or do you have to be there during check in ?

There is travel insurance that you can buy. You don't get the points back, but I believe they give you a set amount (maybe $5.00 per point).

But you can definitely change the name on the reservations and allow someone else to go in your place.

We won't ever pay for the insurance and if we have to cancel, less than 31 days out and have to deal with holding points, we will just find someone in our family or friends to take the reservation.

We have know plenty of people that can go on last minute trips to Disney so we would be fine.
