Planning a vacation to Disney sometime next year--possibly June 16th -27th or August--18th-29th. (5 nights at AKL & 5 nights at BCR) Questions:

Which date is best for codes? AP codes?
Which is cheaper, a June code or AP code?
My June or August date -least crowded?
How far in advance do I book an AP code? Do I wait till they come out or book ahead of time and let CRO know that I will be calling back when AP code comes out?
Same with June Codes-do I book before they come out and then change my ressies to the June code?
Sorry for all the questions but I want to do this as cheap as I can because of staying 10 nights. Thank you to all for your answers.

June is regular season and August is value season for Deluxes. So August will be cheaper. When we were there last year it was a bit crowded but more FL schools are going back to school earlier beginning this year so this might help with some of that. 8/16/04 is when DD goes back to school.

Which date is best for codes? August. This year that had AKL standard at $114 a night.

How far in advance do I book an AP code?
Book whenever and just keep checking for the codes. August codes came out beginning of May this year.

Do I wait till they come out or book ahead of time and let CRO know that I will be calling back when AP code comes out?
They told me to just have my ressies number handy and it will make adjusting the price easier.
good luck,
Shirley

I agree. August is value season. Also much less crowded towards the end of August. June very very crowded. August just crowded. Both months extremely hot. I go August every year. If I have to have the heat mine as well be during value season and with less crowds.

We stayed at the Poly concierge last August for the first time. We were very apprehensive at first about heat, being from Michigan and all. But we found that if you get up early, which is best anyway because the crowds are least early in the day(its amazing how much you can accomplish in the first two hours, the early bird truly does get the worm at WDW) the heat was very tolerable.
Also, typical in Florida, especially during the month of August is an afternoon rainstorm. We generally would make our way back to resort lunch or early afternoon, wait till after the rain and head back. Meanwhile the rain usually helps to drop degrees and the clouds usually help alleviate the sun.
All in all, we felt that it was not as bad as we expected for the month of August and really enjoyed our stay. We are heading back on the 10th of August this summer and hope that staying a little later in August will help with the crowds. I don't know I guess we will have to wait and see
