Vacation Ideas

We just got back from a wonderful Caribbean Cruise this week & I'm already thinking about next year's vacation.

Where should we go?
Single Mom w/ 2 kids DS9 & DD4

We did Las Vegas in '03, Disney in '04, Western Caribbean Cruise in '05 ... any ideas for a great family vacation in May '06?

I'm open to any/all ideas at this point.

Also ~ I'd be interested in hearing about any family all-inclusive resorts that you know of.

Do you and your kids enjoy the outdoors? Horseback riding and such? A dude ranch would be a great adventure and most every state has them!

San Diego is fun. You could do the San Diego Zoo and the Wild Animal Park. Your children might enjoy Legoland - our son loved it.

We're a "Fun-in-the-Sun" kind of family
I'm not sure about the Dude Ranch...I think we might be too high maintenance for that, but I will definately research some more.

San Diego could be cool....

Have you every considered Europe? At times, it can be cheaper than US travel. We did a trip a few years ago, based in London, but took the Eurostar train to Disneyland Paris. Loved the entire trip!

When are you going? August is a big travel time for them, so that would not be a good time to go. We have found get specials during spring break.

MY kids loved San Francisco. We did a 12 day vacation which included San Fran and Lake Tahoe. They still say it was the best non disney vacation they ever had....We cant wait to go back...We will do SAn Fran again but go South next time for our side trips.
