vacation ideas from Maine

Looking for driving vacations for next August (maybe Feb). We are going to Disney this Dec and again next June so we are looking for a new place. I suppose we could fly but it would have to be cheap. We are interested in a place outside of Maine but no farther then 6-7 hours drive. US or Canada would be fine. We have done Quebec but are considering going back. I appreciate some new ideas we may not have thought of. Any recommendations on places to stay in Nova Scotia? thanks

Don't know where you are in Maine but I have seen pretty pictures of the White Mountains in NH.

I also think it would be fun to take kids to the Crayola Factory, Hershey Park, and Sesame Place in PA but I don't know where you are in Maine so I don't know what the drive time would be.

How about Montreal? Or Washington Dc? Philly and Lancaster County (Hershey), Cape May, NJ?, Stowe, VT?, Lake George, NY?

Aren't we New Englanders lucky we have so much available to us within a couple hours drive? Hope this gives you some good ideas.
