We are planning a rushed trip to WDW on April 13 to April 18. We have a party of 7 and we were not able to get the rate that we wanted thru priceline. I went to hotelmartusa.com and I found that they had Houses for rent. Here is the actual name of the company - All Walt Disney World Area Vacation Homes
Disney Area - Anyone ever heard of them? The rate of these homes - sleeps 8 - 125.00 per night. Is that a good price?

Has anyone ever used a home like this? What was good about it and what was not very good about it? We want something that is not "cheap" but yet we do not want 4 stars. Are these homes better than a a one star hotel?

This is the first time I have been to Disney this time of year. How bad will the traffic be coming and going to the parks?

Please help! Any advice will be appreciated!!!

Thanks!

Angela

IMO you just can't beat a vacation home. I love the space to spread out!

Before you rent a home ask to see pictures of the actual home you will be staying in.

The homes I've stayed in have been top of the line. The price of $125 seems very fair for what you get in a home. That being said, I've never had to pay more than $100 a night including tax.

You can rent directly from the owner on the www.vrbo.com site. This will save you money, but you need to check out their management company and how to handle emergencies.

There are some home owners that post. Maybe they can be of help, or might have a home that would suit your needs!

For that many people I'd rent a home. I absolutely LOVE them. I would definetly check out the above link-- as well as orlandovillas.com I think you may be able to find a better deal than the Hotelkingdom one. There are so many to chose from, and just as many options. Be sure to check out everything before you committ. I can't say enough great things about this option for larger groups/families.

Also, I didn't think I was going to be able to handle 8 nights in a single house w/ my sister's family and my parents. We all love each other and get along-- I just didn't know how it would go. Well there was so much space in our 5 bedroom that you could escape if you felt the need. We had 2 master suites. 5 bedrooms, and 3 full baths. Also, we had a decent size pool (we had it heated) plus a full kitchen, washer/dryer, entertainment center. The house was almost 2 yrs old and it was gorgeous. It made leaving even harder. We paid just over $900 for the 8 nights. This included everything as well as pool heat. We were able to split it 3 ways and it turned out to be very, very cheap per family. We had 8 people in ours. 1 bedroom went completely empty.

Renting a home is far better than staying in a hotel. You have lots of space, everyone gets their own room, you have a full kitchen, multiple bathrooms and tvs and lots of other amenites, including a private screened in pool. $125 is fair although it depends on the number of bedrooms. You can probably find one for less but that is not an unreasonable price.

Check vrbo.com and http://www.windsor-palms-resort.com/

Definately a home. Far more room to relax and chillout after a hard day at the parks.

Any home will be better than a one star hotel!!!!! I would hope ours was equal to a three or four star hotel - except it's self catering, obviously.

I think $125 per night is a fair rate for a home.

Our own home would be $820 per week around Easter which works out somewhat less than you have been offered.

Do you know where this home would be? The big advantage of renting a home direct from the owner is that you can see exactly what you are getting for your money.

As Malcolm says a home gives you space and it also gives you freedom
being bale to take your time and not worrying because housekeeping is coming in- is great.

Most homes you will be of a higher standard than a 1* hotel

It does seem a fair price
