So I was planning a fabulous Orlando vacation including WDW and Universal for fall of 2014 and happened to mention to DBF that ABD does a tour to Germany that starts at the Frankfort airport. Well, he has relatives about 40 miles outside of Frankfort that have a vineyard and Inn that we've been hoping to visit and I suggested arriving a few days early and see the family estates then take the tour in 2015. He immediately suggested going in 2014 and postponing Orlando to 2015. I have a couple of questions.

The tours we are looking at are "Adult Only". Does the itinerary change on these trips? What other differences may be expected?

Is the tour magical enough that I won't be disappointed missing my Disney fix?

How frequently have ABD trips been cancelled due to lack of participation?

I've been to the FAQ on the website and most of my other questions have been answered.

Thanks in advance.

In general, the itinerary does not change. The only activity skipped is the Junior Adventurer's movie night. The adults still have whatever special dinner is planned for that nignt, but there's no movie.

I haven't taken this particular itinerary, but the five I've taken have all been totally magical. Missing your Disney fix would be an individual thing. :)

That I know of, very infrequently. I've been on an ABD with 14 people. A trip needs to be seriously low to get cancelled.

I'm sure you'll hear from folks that have taken this specific ABD, too!

(And I have to say, I have NEVER heard anyone say "I wish I'd gone to WDW instead of taking this ABD"!!!)

Sayhello

Wouldn't worry about missing your Disney fix. I think it's far more likely that you will be discussing how to get your ABD fix in 2015.

We had 16 ppl (out of 40) on our SE Asia ABD. Do they really cancel trips much anymore (aside from Egypt)?

Thank you sayhello and Cousin Orville. It appears they will still go with less than half of the slots booked. Actually, a smaller tour group sounds quite nice. I had the unexpected pleasure of winning a trip to Florence and Tuscany last September and DBF got the "Europe Bug". I'd better start a budget now.

Airfare is looking pretty crazy right now. I have some serious searching to do. I guess I could just find a travel agent to do the "legwork" for me.

Anyone who has been on the tour have any tips to offer? How much should I budget for non-included meals?
