V.T Shooting?

I first heard about this at school and when I got home it was all that was on the news. We live about 5 hours from the campus and a lot of people from our area and my HS go there. The last I heard was that 33 were dead and 26 were wounded. Also they have said that there were two seperate shooters. One in the dorms and the other that killed himself. Earlier they said that they didn't lock down the whole campus because they thought it was an isolated incident. They locked just that building. It's very upsetting to all of us around here and that was all that was on for a good part of the afternoon. The news is about to come on and they're gonna tell some more about the other shooter. So I'm going to watch that. But hope these updates helped clear up some of the stuff. Like I said it's been on all day.

My prayers and thoughts are with everyone at VA Tech.

It just boggles my mind why, after a gun attack in a dorm that morning, the campus did absolutely NOTHING until 2 hours later when there was another gun attack in the academic building. All they did was send an email to the campus, wow. They should have shut the campus down and put the campus on lockdown. I just can't believe that they did nothing... If I was a student there, I'd be so mad, especially if the second attack could have been prevented and the majority of the people killed could have been saved.

One of my friends from high school goes to VA Tech. I don't know her that well, but I've had several classes with her over the course of four years of high school. So after I found out, I immediately checked her facebook. She's okay, thank god, and has been updating her status/notes with new things that have come in. She knows one of the injured students, and thankfully, that student was one of the ones who was already released from the hospital.
Unfortunately, one of my friends here at gettysburg knows one girl there... She lives in the dorm that the attack happened at, and her RA (Ryan Clark, they released his name to the public) was one of the killed students.

This just makes me so worried and scared that this could happen at my college, especially with the anniversary of Columbine being only four days away. To imagine what it would be like as a student just freaks me out. I can't even imagine...

Oh, and PGSweetie, they don't know for sure yet if it was two seperate shooters or the same person... they are still trying to figure that out.

I actually saw the website when it had the warning on it. I'll never forget what it said.

"University Advisory: Gunman on Campus: Classes Canceled."

It even looked scary 'cause the text was white and the background was very dark. Imagine seeing that on your campus website. It made me feel like I was right there. *shudders*

I wonder what this shooter's reasoning was behind it? I guess we'll never know.

ugh i can't even IMAGINE what that would be like. they had that guy who lost a sister in columbine...you guys were talking about this before. like that rachel's challenge or whatever. he was on the news. that is SO sad.

i hate how ****ing selfish and ****ing ignorant Americans are, they grieve over someone killing 32 people when on the exact same day, about 200 people were killed in iraq. and i dont see that posted on the news 24/7. im not saying that this shooting isnt a big deal, i would be an *** if i said that, americans just need to be more unselfish and not so self-centered. And what kind of country sells guns to a demented psycho person who has been medical evatuated and is a danger to himself and those around him?

Ok, first of all, you need to chill out. And Second, why would you say that?Of course Americans are praying for the troops, but this was also serious because it was the deadliest school shooting in American history, and I really don't think that we should " compare " deaths, because no matter what, deaths are sad, and we all feel sorry for the people who lost their kids in the shooting, and the war.I don't want to start any flame attacks, but I just wanted to get that out.

If I remember correctly, the man who sold the gun to him, described him as fairly normal, with the correct identification and liscenses he needed to buy the gun.

Because we all know we're gireving over the loss of this moron, and that someone killing 30+ people isn't newsworthy.

So I'm still waiting to hear their reasoning behind not knowing who the gunman is. How is it that they know for sure that he either got shot by authorities or killed himself AND that his first victim was an ex-girlfriend without knowing who he is? Sounds like some serious info is being withheld here.
