V Smile vs. LeapsterTV

I have an almost 3 year old son who loves his letters, numbers and colors. His grandparents are instisting on getting him either the V. Smile TV learning system or the Leapster TV. Which one would you pick?

My dd is five. I looked at both of them and decided to go with the Leapster . I just bought it to give to her for Christmas.

I looked into these systems last year. I went with the Leapster for the graphics. The VSmile seemed to go blurry when I moved the controls quickly. The VSmile had great games but the quality was lacking, in my opinion. My son has loved his Leapster.

You might ask over at the Budget Board too. DS5 has the regular Leapster. He uses it mostly in bed or in the car. He loves it!!!! I'm planning on getting one for DD on her third birthday.

The gym I work at had some v smiles and after less than a month they did not work very well. I have heard lots of people complain about them not lasting very long.

We have a Leapster L-Max (it is handheld and can be plugged into the TV) and love it!
