Day 1, part 2.

Around 2.45pm we head into the DL park. It’s so wonderful to be back on Main Street, with “that” music and the beautiful castle in the distance. They have really gone to town with the Halloween decorations this year and I love the huge pumpkin in front of the castle.

We head up Main Street, towards the Information Board, where simon’s attention is swayed towards a pin stall. He sees a Halloween lanyard with 4 pins and I buy it straight away for him (Well he has bought me to DLP!!). On it goes straight away and he’s very pleased. We decide just to have a wander and head into Discovery Land. Wow, is it busy! We stop at Adventure land for a snack. Si has tomato soup with croutons and I have a choccy doughnut. YUM. We sit for about half an hour and watch the world go by. We then head back to the Hotel as I want to change before our 6.30pm reservation at Walt’s.

After a long soak in the bath for me and another nap for Si, we head back into the park and up Main Street to Walt’s. We are seated over-looking Main Street, which was a lovely surprise. :flower: We spend ages over the menus , as they have lots of photos of Walt and different times in his life. Simon orders Salmoln to start and fillet of beef for main. I just opt for a main course, a Walt’s gormet burger. :earboy2:
Simon has a 1664 (this becomes a regular theme!), I have milk!!! The food is delicious and our waiter, Ross from Scotland(!), is charming. His wife is due 3 days after me. For dessert Simon has a Halloween dessert, I can’t really describe it, but it was like a fruity cheesecake in the shape of a coffin, with a meringue ghost on top. I’ve got a photo, once my camera is sorted out!! I had the warm chocolate cake, yum.

By the time we’ve finished it is park closing. We wander through the village, which is heaving, as we expected!! We decide to wander up to the hotel New York as we’ve never been in there and have heard lots of good things about it. We go into the New York City Bar (I think that’s right?!). I loved the atmosphere of this bar straight away, and have to say that it is now my favourite place to relax in the resort. I have a non-alcholic cocktail called a Lasker Rink and Simon has a 1664. We also get nuts and nibbles. FAB. By 10pm I’m shattered, so it’s a slow walk back and sweet dreams for me. :cloud9:

Two more places to add to my list to try the Hotel New York bar and Walts

Thanks Verity

We were there just before Halloween season and saw all the decorations appearing .They were really good weren't they :goodvibes

Your enthusiasm is really infectious Verity!! That meal at Walt's sounds really yummy and it must be great to look down on everything that's happening in Main Street!! 1664 is lovely but not if you have too many (as I may have done on our very first night in DLP - any rides more exciting than the railroad and IASW were avoided the next day!!! Well, it's much stronger on the continent!!!???) No doubt Simon was much more sensible!
Looking forward to reading the next part!!

That all sounds like bliss! Love the fact they have special Halloween puddings!! Can't wait for the next part!!

Wonderful, wonderful report Verity!! :goodvibes

We decide to wander up to the hotel New York as we’ve never been in there and have heard lots of good things about it.

It must have been that Nicola - she never stops going on about the place!! :rolleyes1
