Would this be alright, or would it be wierd?

I had planned my December trip for my BF and I, and have a reservation at V&A's. Well, thanks to BF's mother's sudden, sinister desire to celebrate the holidays early he will not be able to do WDW with me, and has told me to go ahead and go anyway as I have already paid in full and, because of our work schedules, it will be almost impossiable for us to go together at any other time. He was never really THAT excited about WDW to begin with. He thinks it is a big Six Flags.

If he does not go with me, however, I will be treating my Dad to the great trip that I had planned for BF and I as a thank you for all of the wonderful things he has done for me. I SO want to eat at V&A's, and know that he would love it (He looked through Mr. Disney's review over my shoulder when he was visiting one day and practically drooled on my keyboard). We are always trying new, upscale restaurants together, and share a great love of good food. I know we would enjoy this, but wonder if the atmosphere would make it uncomfortable for us.

Any thoughts?

TIA

I think it is so nice that you want to take your Dad on this trip. I wish I had more time when mine were alive to go to WDW with them....I was never that fortunate....So, I vote yes, take your Dad to V & A and give him the time of his life with a wonderful meal.

I can't imagine a nicer restaurant at which to thank your Dad for everything. For anyone who loves to try upscale restaurants and good food, V&A is an absolute must do! It will be perfect for you and Dad.

The restaurant is romantic, but it is definitely not limited only to couples! It can be romantic, but it can also be, simply, elegant, upscale, quiet, refined and totally relaxing. The service staff is not stuffy, but friendly and helpful --though they don't say, "Hi, my name is Al and I'll be your server". It's not that informal, thank heavens!

Anyway, you'll have a wonderful time, I'm sure!

By the way, watch out carefully for BF's mother -- she sounds like she would be a total nightmare as a mother-in-law. Beware.

I think it would be very nice if you went with your dad. I went with DH and my mom last year, and we had a nice time.

....eyes tearing up....yes, that would be so nice.....Something you will always remember.
