V & A totally booked already for 1st week in Dec.?

I just called Disney Dining, and had a CM who seemed totally clueless. I said, "OK if you book a 6 pm seating you should be out before 9 pm". She said "no, there are only 2 seatings - the 1st is from 5:45 to 6:30. There are no other times between 6:30 and 9:00". We bantered back and forth a few times, and she was basically insisting that our meal would be finished in that 45 min. time frame. She finally admitted that she wasn't sure how long our meal would take...geez!

Then...I asked about the Chef's table for either Weds. 12/4, Fri. 12/6 or Sat 12/7. She said "they're totally booked for those evenings." I said, "OK, how about the main dining area?" She said, "no, they're totally booked for those evenings. This is a really small restaurant, you know."

Now, maybe she's right - maybe it's already booked for Christmas parties or something. I just have trouble believing that. I've read on these boards of people getting PS much closer to their dates, and I figured this far out that I would have no problem!

Am I probably out of luck?!?

The Chef's table gets booked 180 days (or more) out. When I called over a month ago, I was told that it was booked straight through Jan. 2003.

As for the main dining room, I'd be surprised that it was completely sold out at this point. Which phone # did you use? If you used the main Dining #, try this one instead -- (407) 939-7707. This is the "special events" dining #, and these CMs are much more knowledgable than those on the regular #.

The CM you spoke with definitely didn't know what they were talking about. There are only two seating at V&As for a reason. Each seating lasts for 2 - 2-1/2 hours.

Thanks for your quick reply! I will try that #. Hopefully, that CM was just clueless. I have no problem believing that the Chef' Table is booked, but the whole restaurant?!?

I just booked (about an hour ago) a regular table for 12/5, and from the times they offered me, they have many tables available. I called the main dining # to make some other PSs, and the CM transferred me over to special events to make the V&As PS.

Thanks guys! Yes, that # worked perfectly. There are times for all 3 days. I think that other CM was just clueless!

Glad things worked out!!
Amazing that a fair # of CM's at WDW-Dine don't really know much about the restaurants they are making PS for--. And then making it worse by telling you the wrong info!!
Actually, any CM at WDW-Dine who's been there for more than a few weeks should have known up front that reservations at V&A are made thru special events dining.
