V&A: Dining Room vs. Queen Victoria Room

Question for those who have been lucky enough to experience either or both...

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here twice in the QVR. I am thinking about booking the dining room for my sister and I to splurge and celebrate her birthday and our completion of the Dark Side Challenge (hopefully!!).

My questions...

• How does the dining room compare to the QVR?
• Is the entire dinner, start to finish, shorter in the dining room? Roughly how long would you say it took?

We have done the dining room all 4 times we have eaten there. I don't know how it compares to QVR, but we were very happy in the dining room. Every time was easily 3 hours plus.

The last time, our 2 college age kids were with us and loved it!

I've only eaten in the main dining room. You will be allowed to choose from either the 7 course menu or the 10 course (which is what you would have had in the QVR) You don't even need to both order the same length. One could get the seven and the other the ten. It took me four hours the last time I went with my boyfriend and parents. I think it was around three hours when it was just me and my boyfriend. I really like the main dining room. There is a harpist who plays throughout the night and it's really pretty in there.

My son and I ate in the main dining room and it took us about 3 1/2 hours but we ate slow and were just enjoying the experience. We had the 7 course meal, considered the 10 course and am glad we didn't go with that since neither one of us were able to finish the 7 course.
