I have never been to Victoria and Alberts and wanted some advice. We can book either the regular experience or the Queen Victoria room. What should I choose and why?

I would do the regular dining room first. That way, when you do the Queen Victoria room or Chef's Table in the future, you will understand what makes them special.

I've only ever done the QVR at WDW yet have some experiences in this type of service at other venues thus something to compare. The servers are waiting on fewer guests and unlike most of the other French and Russian service places I've eaten at more personable. Actually that was true of the other guests as well. We took DGD with us and at 13 years of age it was kind of obvious she was a newbie to this type of service and meal. Other guests (and staff) made a point of encouraging her to try the caviar (she liked it unlike her dad even now but he only eats tuna in a can and refuses to try any kind of seafood. Yes there were times that his dad and I wondered where he got that trait from....maybe he was a changeling?:D)), clapped for her birthday dessert and at the end of our meal our closest dining neighbors made a point of stopping by the table and whispering to me she had a grandson she'd love DGD to meet. We agreed that this could happen when both children had acquired MBAs, and were in their 30's;).

The QVR area only serves a 10 course meal while the main dining room gives you a choice of 7 or 8 courses and 10 courses; obviously you'll pay more for the 10 course meal. The harpist plays in the main room although you can hear the music in QVR.

Honestly, it's up to you. I suspect either room's meal would be life affirming from a culinary POV:). Oh and I would bypass the add on wine service by course and just order one or two wines for the meal. Next time I plan to drink a good glass of bubbly through out and maybe add a small pour of a red wine for the red meat course.

Have fun whichever room you choose and keep in mind that different people interpret the dress code in their own manner. I wore a jersey material t-shirt dress with statement jewelry and a silk BoHo embroidered jacket. Our neighbors wore business and cocktail dresses. All the men wore business suits or blazers with pressed khakis. DGD wore a Pulitzer sundress with sandals and socks. I don't know what the socks were about but since they made her happy I merely called my sisters to giggle about how THAT won't happen much in the next 10 years.
