V&A Chef's Table questions

Hi all. My wife and I are go to WDW in December and staying at the GF. We are going down for her 40th birthday and our 12th anniversary. We were able to get reservations for V&A but she thinks it is only for the Victoria Room but I actually got the Chef's Table. Questions:

1 - With everything provided at the Chef's Table and all the reviews about the deserts, is also ordering the Cinderella Chocolate Slipper Desert too much????

2 - I know they offer a wine pairing and I have read some where one person got the wine pair and the other person enjoyed it too. Is it ok (proper) to share the wine pairing????

We had the Chef's Table for our tenth anniversary. I was barely able to finish the food we had with the meal, so I definitely agree the extra dessert would be too much. As for the wine pairing, I did it and my husband did not. I would honestly just go for a glass or two. By the end, I couldn't really appreciate anything because I was so full and a bit tipsy. I love the idea of food and wine pairings. Maybe I'm just too much of a lightweight for the number of courses you get with the Chef's Table. The food was incredible, so whatever you decide to do, you'll have a fantastic time!

Such a good husband! We just did it last week for the first time! Amazing! We've done the Queen Victoria room twice and this was a completely different experience. I am working on my dining review under the restaurant board. I haven't gotten there yet but I should this week. Lots of pics for you. There are 2 dessert courses and then also a chocolate candy course. Unless there was a ring or other piece of jewelry in the slipper, I would save it and do something else special during the trip.

We did the wine pairing each. Each wine is so expertly paired with the course. It wasn't too much for us, but we drink wine with meals several days a week. It was too much to drive though - way too much. I can't imagine they would have a problem if you shared one portion of wine when you paid for one pairing. You aren't getting anything for free. They are very nice and so accommodating. I know we can handle the wine, but I can totally understand how many people wouldn't remember dessert! We took a taxi back and I fell asleep right away.

We did the Victoria Room (there were eight of us) and specifically asked for splitting the wine pairing for each couple. They were VERY supportive of that. These are full pours and (in Victoria room and Chef Table) are 10 glasses (one for each course). Too much wine for one person (well... at least for casual drinkers).
I agree with playing by the rules. The world would be a much better place if everyone did. What I want to assure you is that splitting the wine pairing is completely within the rules.
BTW, you also have options to pair only specific courses and not do the entire pairing. They simply charge you by the glass for the courses that you had wine with.

How would sharing a wine pairing be breaking any rules? People talk about doing it all the time on this board, esp. at V&A with so many courses and pourings. We're eating at the CT in September, and I think DD22 and I will share a wine pairing. I'd like to taste the wines but not get buzzed during my meal. If it doesn't seem like enough, we can always order more wine.

You can share the wine paring. You would not be cheating. The wine they give you will be a set amount, which can then be shared between you. It is not the same as getting a drinks package then sharing that!
It is NOT Cheating the system, just taking care of how much you drink.
I would say sharing it is a sensible thing to do.

Thank you all for your answers and help. I am one that likes to play within the rules which is why I posted the questions in the first place!! Two years ago, I surprised my wife for her birthday with a complete to WDW....only a couple of her co-workers knew and even packed her luggage. This time, it will be the surprise of the Chef's Table.

Side question, are there any special deserts (like the chocolate slipper desert) available at any of the other restaurants (Artist Point, Le Cellier, Monsieur Paul)????
