UY question...

We are planning on purchasing 200 points direct in April. We will have an Oct UY. I've been told we would get 2017 points. We are planning a trip over Christmas 2018. I've calculated about 208 points for that trip so I would be using the 2017 points, then 8 from 2018. We are also planning a second trip again in July 2019 for one of our daughters 16th birthday. Will I be able to borrow from the 2020 points for that trip? Or will we not be able to borrow until Oct of 2019? Thanks in advance!

You would be borrowing from 2019, not 2020. It breaks down as follows:

2018 - 400 points (200 banked from 2017, 200 current from 2018)
2019 - 200 points

208 total points for Christmas 2018 trip - (200 from banked 2017, 8 from current 2018)
X total points for July 2019 trip - (192 from current 2018 points, X-192=borrowed from 2019 points) If points needed for your July trip exceed 392 points, you will not have access to 2020 points until October 1, 2019 and will need to transfer points from another member or rent one-time-use points from DVD to make up the difference.

Just be aware that the July 2019 trip will fall outside of your banking window.

If before May 31, 2019 you decide to cancel, you'll be able to bank your 192points for 2018 UY into 2019, but any borrowed points from 2019 will need to be used by September 30, 2019.

If between June 1, 2019 and 1 day before your July 2019 trip you decide to cancel, all points used for the booking will go into a holding account and you will have to use by September 30, 2019.

However, a July 2019 trip is in your 2018 use year.

Thank you all! We do tend to go over the summer, but that may change now that the kids are all getting older. I think our July 2019 trip is going to be about 350 points. We’re a family of 5 and will most likely be booking 2 studios. Our July Split stay in July GFV & BWV. One of my best friends lives in Hilton Head and with the kids getting older I can totally see us using the RCI points too!! Thanks again!
