we are in the process of buying a resale and I have a question...
If we typically go in May, is a March UY going to work?... I thought it would (after reading all the posts) but then the agent confused me completely and suggested that it was less than ideal...
thanks...

IMO, March would be a great UY if you usually go in May. May is well within the 100% banking window if plans should fall thru at some point. Now a March UY would make Xmas or February vacation plans a bit dicy, and you may want ot consider this in your calculations.

Good luck with your negotiations and passing ROFR.

March is great for you since travel in May. If your plans change you can still bank points. If you travelled in January you would be very limited in terms of last minute cancellation options with March UY.

I have to agree. The idea use year is one within the last couple of months BEFORE you usually travel. March would be ideal for May trips.

With a March use year, the 25% banking deadline is Dec. 31st, so even if some of your December ressies aren't used and if you cancel more than 30 days out, it's possible that you can still bank. The 50% window is Nov. 30th, and I've asked everyone to please let me know (again) by Nov. 15th regarding their intentions to come on our Dec. trip. I think our March use year is fine for us. If you mostly go in May, it should be fine for you as well.

March UY would be a great choice for your May vacation pattern

May is a great time to go as well
