UT tix question/upgrading to hoppers

if i purchase my tix on undercover tourist and after linking to MDE how do I then upgrade to hoppers if we decide that's what we want to do?

Would we be charged the full amount of the difference between the UT ticket price and the Disney price? Or the equivalent Disney to Disney price?

Can I upgrade before we leave for our trip or can I only upgrade once there?

1. Nope.
2. Depends on when the UT ticket was printed by Disney, and what the rules are at the time
you are actually at WDW.
I'm expecting there to be at least a slight change in the "upgrade rules" when there is another ticket price increase.
That increase/rule change may (or may not) happen within the next couple of months.
