UT ticket upgrade with Disney Visa Rewards?

Ok Disers help me think this through please...
I could buy UT tickets with the Mousesaver discount for my family of 6 for our June trip. 5 adults, 1 child price...
UT prices
7 day base $2054.70
or
7 day hopper $2426.70

Disney Web prices...
7 day base $2119.38
or
7 day hopper $2528.34

If I want to use my Disney Rewards money...
...could I purchase the UT base tickets at $2054.70, use them to get in the gate, and then upgrade to hoppers using my Disney Visa Rewards for an additional $408.96?
So basically, even though I pay UT base tix of $2054.70 after I use the tix
the Hopper upgrade would be $2528.34-2119.38 (Disney's base price)= 408.96 Right?

Obviously, just buying the Hoppers from UT is a bit cheaper BUT I can't use Disney rewards money with them...
and ticket prices will probably increase by June...

The ugrade price would be the difference between the Disney hopper and the Disney base price? Not the difference between the Disney hopper and the UT base price?
