I am always leery of a last minute change in plans, so I try not to book inclusive packages that you cannot get refunded.

Same with tickets.

I have yet to buy from UT, but plan to this year, and one reason is their refund policy. But I do have a couple of questions.

If I choose tickets that they mail (versus e-tickets), what is a good guideline for number of days in advance to purchase, before you leave home for your trip?

If I buy the e-tickets, I assume I can get an instant refund (minus 5% stocking fee)...does anyone have experience in getting refunded for actual tickets that you have to return?

I plan to upgrade to APs the first day of use (no blockout or concert date concerns during our trip), so either version is fine for me...just wondering if anyone had preferences.

I buy from UT when I a) first start planning for a trip or b) have the funds to pay for tix before the trip. That way the cost is out of the way by the time we travel.

We never worried about refunds, I figure they are a hard asset since the tix do not expire (until you use them the first time). If we missed a trip for some reason, I just stash the tickets for the future.

If you are wanting to buy right before your trip, 2-3 weeks out gives you a good cushion for delivery window.

Thanks for the feedback...the reason I ask about a refund is UT does sell some special deal tickets that do expire.

if your ticker is correct you would be there and gone by memorial day.

UT has some specials for tickets with May 31 expiration date.

that one could work for you.

also check out mouse savers and allears.net for ticket info.

at one time Maple Leaf was a good ticket provider for the discounts.

Yeah, I am looking hard at the 2+2 that expires May 31. The ticker is a bit wonky (had ask about alternatives in another post), but we are there May 23-26.
