I already did/filed my taxes and just got something in from DHs school (this is the first time they've sent something..didn't get anything last year). He does online classes between deployments and the military pays for all of it. On the paper it says its a tuition statement form 1098-T. Does this thing matter since I already did the taxes?

It's most likely for him to use if he is claiming a deduction or credit for tuition. But if the military is paying for everything, I'm not sure he can claim it.

Is he using TA? If so, I would double check to make sure that he isn't responsible for 5% of the tuition bill.

What is a TA? The military pays 100% of his schooling so we wouldn't be responsible for any of it.

TA is Tuition Assistance. When I used it, they only paid 75%, then went up to 95%. But it's been quite awhile since I dealt with it, so they must have raised it to 100%.

I'm 99% certain (without looking at mine) that it's for use in claiming tuition towards the Lifetime Learning Credit. You don't HAVE to claim it, because doing so only benefits you, not the IRS. I'm not 100% sure you can even claim it though if you aren't the ones paying for tuition. You can probably just call the IRS and ask about that or look on their website.

Thanks for the replies. I just got ahold of DH and he said not to worry bout it so I'm not LOL.
