I’m planning on purchasing our Disney tickets via Undercover Tourist, but I’m not sure if I should purchase them as e-tickets or have them mailed to me. The last time we went was 9 years ago and we didn’t have Magic Bands, Fast Pass (like it is now) or the Disney Experience app.. so this all seems a bit overwhelming. I just want to be able to link our tickets to our Disney App and be able to head into the parks upon arrival. Which ticket would make that quickest and easiest? Thanks in advance.

We ordered a couple of times from them prior to purchasing AP’s... you can link both tickets. However, the only difference is, If they E-mail them to you, they are non-refundable. Hard tickets that are mailed, are.

If that has changed, someone please correct me, it’s been a few years. Have fun.

I like the e-tickets because I can link them the same day and I don't have to worry about the mail. Open the PDF they email you on your computer and you can scan the tickets into the Disney World app by pointing your phones camera at the bar codes on your computer screen.

If you go the e-ticket route, you could link them right away to your MDE app so you could make fast passes. However, I believe you would still need to pick up physical tickets when you got there. Unless you have or are getting magic bands to use. Then you could just scan the band.
If you aren't planning on getting magic bands, I would get the physical tickets mailed. Those can also be linked to the app ahead of time and you can go directly into the park with them. These are also refundable within 90 days. E-tickets arent.

Thanks so much! Yes, we will have magic bands as we are staying on property. Thanks for all of the great info!

I just bought the mailed physical tickets last night. I’ve done it several times and never had a problem. I like that there’re refundable (I don’t have airline tickets yet, otherwise I would have gotten etickets). With either ticket type you can link them in MDE and can go straight to the parks . It also used to be true that you could send them an email asking for the numbers after you bought but before the tickets arrive so if you didn’t have MBs and wanted the cards but also wanted to put the tickets into MDE right away, you could. I don’t know if that’s still true though (I didn’t check last night since I don’t need them immediately).

I used to always get them mailed but the last few times I did the e ticket. Have not had any issues either way so for me it just depends on how soon I order them before needing to make FP.

I'm not totally certain, but I believe once a hard ticket is linked to an MDE account, it's also not refundable. At least that's what I've understood it to be.

As far as ease (and assuming you're doing this far enough in advance that a physical ticket would get to you in time for your FP window), there's zero difference between e-ticket and physical tickets. Other than the refundability, it's really personal preference. I tend to prefer e-tickets so I have electronic records of everything but I usually go with physical ones if I'm planning on upgrading (which probably doesn't matter either - but I've just found being able to hand the physical media over sometimes makes that easier).

I also bought the mailed tickets. It gave me piece of mind to have physical tickets and they were super easy to link. They are Fedexed overnight I believe so they come pretty fast in the mail. I brought them with us on our trip and had them in the room in case there was an issue. The magic bands worked just fine but I was happy to have a back up in case.

I get them on the mail except one time where I wasn't sure if they will get on time for the 60 day FPs.

I also like to have the physical copy on it in my wallet in case I leave the Magic Band or something like I did last time (Disney Spring Hotel).

Can anyone clarify if the tickets are refundable after linked to your MDE? The way I read it, as long as the tickets aren't used (scanned into a park), they can be refunded. We aren't 100% sure we are making our trip so we ordered the mailed tickets in case they need to refunded but we plan to make FP+ at our 60 day window just in case it happens.

I just linked tickets last week. You have to scratch off the section to see the numbers on the ticket to link it. So if they have been scratched off I would say they may not let you get a refund.

They are not refundable after you link them.
