Usually Disappointed in HS, but ...

I've given HS a try several times, but I am always very disappointed. The layout and crowds have always been bad, and most of the attractions didn't appeal. We went last in 2015. On our next trip in August, we have two days planned at WDW and we have hoppers. We'll spend the first day at AK in the am and Epcot in the pm. The next day we have an evening planned in AK with FP for Avatar FoP and RoL! We originally planned to spend the morning in MK, which we've been to dozens of times. But now we are considering the morning in HS bc the kids (ages 7 and 9) love Star Wars and Toy Story. I guess we can't get any FP for the morning. I did book a lunch at SciFi which looks fun, but will I regret skipping MK this trip? Is there enough to do for several hours in the morning (we won't be riding RnR)?

We really enjoy HS, but I get that it isn't for everyone. I say that with the limited time you have, you should spend it at a place you know you will love. Go to MK... there will be plenty of things for the kids to love there.

And, depending on your FoP FP time, I would rather hop back to MK and watch the new Happily Ever After. I have heard a ton of great things about it, but I have read mostly 'Meh' reviews of ROL. But again, do what will make you have the most enjoyable 2 days :)

I agree with this. I personally loved ROL, but HEA is not to be missed. Do your morning with FP for fop (if you haven't gotten it already) and then hop to MK for the evening. MK is easy to pick up same day FP for, too.

As for HS...there are some good rides there, but it is not really our thing. I can take it or leave it.

I like DHS. Before all the closures it was probably my favorite park, especially at Christmas time. But as it is now, I could never choose it over Magic Kingdom. Is it worth spending some time in? Sure. But if MK is what's on the other end of the chopping black, I wouldn't do it. What I would suggest is getting the express bus pass for one day and squeezing DHS in. What are your FP for the first day? I'd probably RD MK, make FP for TSMM, ToT, and Star Tours early afternoon, and then enjoy your evening in Epcot.

With the kids liking Star Wars you could rope drop to Toy Story and go to Star Wars after. Depending on lunch and when you want to hear back to AK you could do the Star Wars meet and greet with Kylo Ren or BB8. If you have the Chase cc you can go through a separate line for having the card. There are some shows like Indiana Jones and Beauty and the Beast if you are not interested in RnR and TOT. If that doesn't work then Magic Kingdom it is!!! Either way you will have a great time!

I have no idea what your future plans if any are, but given toy story land and Star Wars land will each be opening in the next couple of years, it might be best to hold off until another time when there'll be tons that your kids will be into doing
