Usual ROL times at AK in May?

My FP+ day is tomorrow, and I want to get some FPs down so I was checking times. I noticed that this is no ROL at all listed at AK. Is that because they may have a different time? The park closes at either 8 or 8:30 that week (May 11-16) according to Disney’s park hours schedule.

I think my grandkids may enjoy it, but it’s our fourth choice for park closing shows, so not sure if we’d make it anyway but I’d like to sort of schedule it in if I could.

Check the actual Rivers of Light show page, and not the operating hours calendar. I'm going next week and same thing. ROL isn't showing up on the calendar under "Fireworks and Nighttime Spectaculars", but does show the times on ROL's own page.

But just to make things fun, I can only get on the ROL page from an Incognito window in Chrome, not regular Chrome... 🤷‍♀️

For some reason, DAK is scheduled to close at 8pm on 5/12 & 5/14 despite closing at 8:30pm the entire rest of the month. RoL does not appear to be scheduled for those two days, but is for every other day in May. To me that indicates a possible private event after park closing on those days. They may add a show on those dates at some point, but the different closing time and no RoL scheduled on just those dates indicates something is likely up.

And 5/14 is the day I selected for our AK day........but of course I can adjust if needed. The only bugaboo would be rescheduling a FP+ for FoP.
Or course, since the kids don’t even know they are going to WDW yet, they wouldn’t have a clue about ROL anyway.........

Unsolicited opinion - while I love DAK at night and think RoL is a beautiful show that is worth watching.... I don't consider it an absolute 'must do' on a typical Disney trip. If it fits in your schedule, absolutely - but I'm not sure I'd totally overhaul any plans just to watch it.

Yes, that’s what I’m thinking now as well. With Fantasmic! and HEA (and likely Epcot Forever, which I think they will really enjoy), that’s plenty.

Since Epcot Forever is new to them, they will really think it’s great I believe. The oldest one saw illumiNations about 4 years ago when he was 5- I’m sure it won’t remember it or compare it to EF.
