Using Vouchers...HELP!!

Thanks to you here at Dis I have gotten 2 vouchers for our flight in Nov on Delta. They total $46.50!!! Now here is the kicker...right now, online the flights we want for our April/May 2002 trip are $183.00!! But you cannot use your vouchers online and the fare is not available over the phone. Any suggestions??? Bev, you ALWAYS seem to know what to do. I did email Delta on their websiteand suggest they make provisions on the Skymiles account to use any voucher credits and asked if in lieu of that could they honor the website price. Anybody else had this situation?

When i found my price online, I called delta and told them what i had found, they found it as well, then i told them i had vouchers to use. They put a hold on it for me and said to go to the airport or one of their ticket centers and complete the sale. They gave me a booking reference to refer to when i got there. When i arrived, i gave them the booking # and it was no problem. I do think they said to go asap becasuse if the fare goes up before i actually purchase it, then i have to pay the new fare. I got there in an hour and all was fine.

this is the way it was explained to me. as long as they can pull up the PNR at either a city tkt office or the airport tkt cntr you may book the ressie on line and put it on hold and then go to one of these places and exchange the voucher in for the tkt. as long as it does not say you cannot use it for an online ressie on your voucher then there should be no problem. (I am referring to the conditons and terms of usage that are listed on the voucher) for instance in may I used my 400 voucher from usair to purchase my tkts that I made ressies with on the internet. I then called the 800 nbr associated with the websight and had them note the PNR that I was indeed allowed to redeem the voucher for the ressies made online. the usair websight is indeed usair it was not travelocity or expedia etc. so it did indeed qualify. I did have to point this out to the girl behind the desk at the CTO and she finally agreed with me and said it was good that I had them not the PNR as well.

I really appreciate your replies!! Delta customer service told me after a lengthy conversation that I cannot use the vouchers on a website price . It has to come up in their system and then they put a hold on the tickets and I have to go to a ticket agent....either the airport or a travel agent and use the vouchers in person to get the reduced price. They are working at putting all this online but she said it will take quite sometime to have it all work. At this point I am going to hold off, wait until the price with Delta on the phone goes down and then purchase. Thank you again!!

yes thats the way usair is doing it now too. they should have a place where y ou can put the voucher nbr in for form of payment.....this would make it so much easier for us.....but then again they also have to make sure that once that voucher is used that it can't be used again.....thats where the problem is........

I had the same situation this week. Except they could not honor the price on the internet. I called two times and the price was about $30 more. I had vouchers for $30 for each in my party. So I lost out on the low prices from the internet, I lost the extra miles from ordering through internet, BUT they took my vouchers over the telephone I did not have to go to the airport, they called them E vouchers.

I also complained to the supervisor that we should be able to use vouchers on the internet.
