Using UBER between WDW & USF/IoA?

Planning 4 day trip to WDW & USF/IoA (Jan 2016) with family of 5 (staying on-site @ WDW) and was wondering if anyone has used Uber to get between WDW & USF/IoA? If so, how does it compare to Mears or Taxi or renting a car for the day? Can we make a "reservation" with Uber,in advance? Where is the best place to be picked up, dropped off? Is Uber allowed onto the WDW properties? Sorry for all the questions, I'm a newbie (to USF & Uber) and kind of concerned about this part of our trip.

There's an Uber thread that may answer these questions, or where you could get more replies. You cannot make an advance reservation with Uber. It's an on demand service so you request one through the Uber app when you are ready for it. Before you request it, Uber will give you an estimate of how long it will take a car to get to you. I find Uber to be more convenient than Mears or a taxi because I can request it on my time, I can see via GPS exactly where the car is so I know when they're approaching me, the amount includes tip and is charged to my credit card so no payment during the ride, and it's always cheaper than a cab if you use UberX.
