Using Transferred Points

I have 111 points in my Sept. 2016 use year AKV. I have had 146 transferred in my account with Oct. 2016 use year AKV.

If I start a reservation with my Sept points say I make a reservation for January 11 mo. out for a week can I call and add a night at a time each day as the calendar opens using the transferred Oct. points?

Are they 2015 or 2016 October points? You might need to bank them first.

And you don't need to call every day when you book at 11 months. Nobody can take that room out from under you unless you wait a full seven days. Just call on the last day and add on from there.

They are 2016 transferred points. Will they treat it like a separate reservation from the previous since it is a different set of points? Or will they allow the add on to the current reservation?

I think I was backwards in my earlier post. October 2016 points will not be valid for a September 2016 stay. They'd need to be borrowed, but I'm not sure if transferred points can be borrowed.

But, Member Services should be able to book a single reservation using both your points and transferred points. That part won't be a problem.

Where did the transferred points come from? The only rule I can find says that transferred points cannot be borrowed, and those October points won't be valid for your September stay. But there is a lot of flexibility if you own both sets of points under separate memberships.

It wouldn't be for this January it would be for January 2017 which would fall under my 2016 use year.

Sorry, it's late and I got confused. Both sets of points should be valid for a January stay. For some reason I thought you wanted to stay in September.
