Using tickets before reservation

It looks like you can add more days to your tickets than you are staying at a resort (we have a 3 night reservation but we are staying offsite a few days before). Can we get a 5 day ticket and use some days before our check in day?

If you buy your tickets separately, they can be used any time.

If your tickets are included as per of a package, you can activate them at a ticket booth up to 10 days before you check in. Keep in mind that you won’t be able to make FP+ for days prior to your check-in in this scenario.
