using the spa at SSR ....

hello!
does anyone know the answer to this one ...

we are staying at SSR in Dec
we are DVC - guests are not

1. is use of fitness center free for us - for them?
2. can we use spa (jacuzzi, showers, sauna, etc...) for free - can they?
3. is their a DVC discount on spa services?

i did search this question ... but seems like everybody who used the spa had booked some type of spa service. we've stayed at other non-disney spas and even on days that we did not have apts we could go in and use the facilities.

also does anybody know if they have those multi-head showers ... those are great!

Okay...haven't stayed at SSR yet but since no one else is answering you I'll answer to the best of my knowledge

Not sure if there is a charge or not for the spa but if there is no charge for members and your guests are staying with you in your villa or even staying in a separate villa but on your points as your guest...they will be entitled to go free as well if it is free to members. Obviously, if there's a charge for members though, it will also apply to your guests. If your guests are staying on your points, their room card will say DVC member on it though.

If on the other hand, you are staying on points and your guests are booking on their own separately paying cash via CRO...they're on their own and your perks really wouldn't apply to them.

And I believe there is some kind of discount for members on the spa services ...10 or 20% or something?? Can't remember for sure but maybe someone who knows will chime in and post.

We just returned from SSR and used the Fitness Center each morning. There is no charge for members, and probably not for your guests, either. They will have the same type of room key as you (sharing same villa?). By the way, the Fitness Center is awesome. It was one of the highlights of our trip. I can't wait to stay there again.

I did a couple of spa treatments and DVC members received a 25% discount on certain treatments. Check the DVC website for a specific list. I have the spa pedicure and the Mystical Forest Massage. Both were awesome. The discount was great.

Not sure about using the spa/sauna's etc. I do know that the sauna's and showers were available to me during my spa treatments, but I did not use them after my workouts. Perhaps someone else can offer info about that.

There is a web page you can go to that will give you the complete list of services and the prices. Do a search for Relaxed Yet, it should come up as a Niki Bryan Spa. Sorry I can't put the web page down, I have not earned my ears yet!! As a DVC member you do get a discount (like stated in previous post) 20-25%, not sure of exact amount, but not on all services offered. Make sure you call ahead for your reservation.

The spa locker rooms with the showers, dry sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi are available for DVC members to use after using the fitness center. I will check on guests of members for you when I go back to work on Friday.
