how did you best use the snack credits? I'm having a hard time figuring it out.

We can drink mostly water [no one drinks a lot of pop] from fountains so I'm wondering if we can somehow use snacks as breakfast...muffins, fruit cups or something somewhere?

also what's the best snack to get for a true snack? and any healthy ideas?

so far I have us spending about $100 out of pocket because we have more meals than credits. If I can get breakfast with the snacks somehow, I'll save about $40 [I think]....

does anyone have break-downs or anything of how they used them? Thanks so much....

6 days to go....

I figured out the advanced search so was able to find lots of answers to my question. Sorry for killing space. But...

Since I have taken up space already and I discovered coffee counts as snack [yipee for me]...I'll ask, is there anywhere where I can get good coffee for my snack credit? Not Nescafe??

Thanks!

Trish

DD and I split my cs for breakfast (got a big breakfast platter at the hotel food court and shared) and then shared a cs (hers) for lunch. We just cut the sandwich in half and shared chips or something. You could use a snack for an extra drink if sharing.

adult menu. So, I could split with 1 kid but then other kids would have to split a kid's meal....
It might work...I guess I'll figure it out when we get there.

I think I might pack protein bars or muffins or easy breakfast ideas just in case.

Trish

TnTWalter : so what did you find from your search regarding Snacks? Care to share with us newbies?

I know at the resort food courts you can get fresh fruit as a snack. The Mickey Rice Krispie heads are pretty big, they would make a good, not necessarily healthy, breakfast.

Doesn't sound like I can make a breakfast out of Snacks....I'll have to figure out how to share CS meals or pay some out of pocket...

Favorite Snacks: [from a post asking this, here are the responses]
Mickey Bar
Figaro Fries & Turkey Legs
Mickey rice krispie treats w/chocolate ears
Frozen Bananas
Frozen Juice Bars
Tollhouse cookie ice cream sandwiches

Healthy Snack Choices:
Fruit
Lunching Pad has 1 Pint Milk
Water
Toontown Farmer's Market has good healthy choices

And I found out that Coffee Counts!! :O) Just trying to find out if I can get something besides Nescafe at WDW...

With the dining plan WDW doesnt designate them as child or adult credits in the computer so we did use the kids cs as adults a few times for breakfasts. If you order adults meals for breakfast they dont know if you are on the plan or not untill you pay and the cashier simply ran ours through as cs numbers.
Have a good trip!

at POP FC, they were allowing a piece of fruit (banana, apple) as a snack
they also allowed pop tarts as snacks.
When you could get dessert w/BF, we got the fruit cup for DD--can't do that in '06, though :confused3 --i wonder if they'd allow the fruit cup as a snack.
i think the resort FCs are more flexible than in-park CS

I am glad you posted. We are planning a trip for 2006 or 2007 & I am trying to determine whether the dining plan would be advantagous for our group. THe last time we were there, I could swear that for dining you were a child until age 12. When did a 9 yr old become an adult for dining purposes?

You don't start paying for an adult meal until the child is 10. So the cost for a 9 year old is still 10.99/11.99 (2005/2006 cost).

When we ate CS breakfast, we're not big on breakfast, we were able to get HUGE cinimon rolls as the dessert portion, ate at POR foodcourt. They came in a sealed container. Depending on how big a breakfast eaters you have, you could alway get CS on, say Monday, everybody get a cinimon roll, save these until Tuesday morning, use a snack credit or pay out of pocket for milk or juice and you would have a 2nd breakfast covered. Our room wasn't that far from the food court, so I ran the uneaten rolls back to our room and put them away b4 we hit the parks.

The meals at Disney have alot of food in them. Unless your big eaters I think you will find yourself able to split some meals, making your DP go farther.

menus....and we do typically eat 3 meals..so I'm just concerned since we're they're 6 days but only get 2 meals per day for 5 days [arrive noon 1st day and leave noon 6th day] and the snacks are just drinks or snacks....

And of course I'm wasting 2 of the TS meals on character breakfasts! ;o)

I think I read somewhere [can't find it now of course] that you can get fruit or something wrapped as a dessert to take with you....

We're also going to pack snacks from home [nutri grain bars, protein bars, juice boxes, etc.] and then we'll have room for souveniers as someone suggested.

Thanks everyone!

I just finished finalizing my TS meals [deleted HDD & Donald's Breakfastosaurus and added Coral Reef [it's now 1 TS instead of 2! ;o)]...I also added Planet Hollywood because we get 2 vouchers for adult meals, so that worked out great! I'm hoping we'll spend < $30 out of pocket on food now.

Trish

Trish, I will try to answer your ? about good coffee. Nescafe is EVERYWHERE.
The Dolphin has a Starbucks. Otherwise you will find a french press at Kona in the Poly., and good coffee at Boma. That is about it. I took a list of coffee spots with me from this site. I asked and was told they serve Nescafe. HTH Deb

I would agree the food courts are more flexible than in-park food areas. We were able to get a lot more for snack credits. Not a lot of healty choices except: All the different fruits, any of the juices (small 6 oz v8 or 16 oz orange juice), milk.

We would get a large scoop of ice-cream and then rootbeer (total 2 SC) to create a rootbeer float.

Just checking with you that you know the Planet Hollywood vouchers are one meal per package, not per person/adult. So you'll only have one voucher unless you've booked 2 packages. Does that make sense? The voucher is VERY specific about what you can get (I have it in front of me). It's a burger platter, a caesar salad, or a pasta pomodoro and a non-alcohlic beverage. You might already know this, but I thought I'd check.

There is too much too think about. ugh!!! Everytime I think about considering the plan I read one of these and think this is way too much for my very small brain. The way I figure, I am spending about $180 a day on 5 people and that's only one sit down dinner and a $20 snack for lunch with b/f in the room. I would save money even if I only used the credits for my one sit down and the snack credits for drinks. We never eat CS. I just hate the thought of sorting through all these credits. How do you guys do it? Is it a pain in the you know what? ;)

Didn't realize how specific the food choices were but if it's free, it's got our name on it! ;o)

If you don't eat cs then the dining plan wouldn't be a good idea for you. I used it last trip with no problem. I booked one ts per day except the last day and we had a cs lunch everyday. The reciept had how many credits we had left so I could keep track.
