Using resort key to send souvenirs to your resort - How?

I've read that you can use your resort key to send all your purchases to your resort's gift shop. I have some questions!

- Is this available for all resorts?
- How does this work, and how soon do your items arrive?
- Does it work at Downtown Disney?
- What do you do when you go to pick them up?
- When do you/can you pick them up?
- Has anyone ever had something not turn up?

- Is this available for all resorts? As long as you are in a Disney Hotel.
- How does this work, and how soon do your items arrive? If you have charging privalges on your card, it will be activated upon check in and you can use it from that point forward. - Does it work at Downtown Disney? Yes- What do you do when you go to pick them up? You will fill out a reciept in the store, just have that w/ you when picking up items.
- When do you/can you pick them up? Whatever shop you are in they will let you know. You can pick them up at Guest Services or the Gift shoppe of your hotel
- Has anyone ever had something not turn up? no

Anything else I should know?
Any shop that you want this to do this in will give you a time frame; just make sure you are still on vacation when they tell you the date the items will be arriving... (ex: leaving on friday, shopping on thursday & the store tells you they will be there on Sat... ) Then whatever items you want, just tell the store to hold it till the end of the day and pick up items when leaving the park.

You tell the person checking you out that you want it sent to your hotel, they will help fill out a form. Your items are generally in the hotel gift shop the next day

Take your copy of the form/reciept to the hotel shop

I did have one not show up by the time I checked out, but it was shipped to my house(at no charge to me)within a few days, good part of that was it was coffee mugs and one arrived broken, they sent a whole new set and did not ask me to send anything back. If I had brought them home myself and broke them I wouldn't have asked for a replacement.

ETA: Charging to your room is NOT requried to use this service.

Well, it's not so much your room key as it is that you are actually staying on-site. When you buy something, you just tell the CM that you would like it shipped back to your resort. They will give you a form to fill out. Your purchases will then be bagged and you should be able to get them the following evening. Let's say you bought something today, Monday. You would be able to pick it up on Tuesday evening at your resort gift shop. The thing you have to be careful of is to not do it if you are leaving the next day or so.

You will be given a receipt that you will have to show at the gift shop.

To put your mind a little at ease, I have been to Disney over 35 times and have had items sent to my room more times than I can count. I have never had a single problem or a single item missing. It is truly a fantastic service. Enjoy

Absolutely!!!

- How does this work, and how soon do your items arrive? You can do this up until two days before you leave. The day prior for your departure is not good as you will be checking out by 11 the next day.
You fill out a form and they deliver it to your room. Youc an pick it up from the gift shop at your resort the next day.

- What do you do when you go to pick them up? Give them your recipts (carbon of the form you fill out, they go pick up your packages and bring them out to you. You sign a book showing you picked them up and you are good to go!!

- When do you/can you pick them up? Next business day!

- Has anyone ever had something not turn up? No, this has been a great service. Even if you did have that issue, Disney will make it right.



Take advantage of it. It sure makes shopping easy knowing you do not have to carry the items around with you.

The only "problem" I have with it is between that and the charging to the room option -- I spend WAY more than I would if I had to carry the stuff around. It can be VERY dangerous (but I love it!). We did it for EVERYTHING last trip and I've got to say I loved going to our gift shop at night and getting stuff that we got (usually the day before). It was like buying it all over again. Luckily I didn't have to pay for it twice.

If you also happen to be staying on a Club Level floor or building any purchases you have sent to you're Resort, you can pick them up at the Cast Member desk or they put them in you're room and you don't have to go into the store at you're Resort.
