Does anyone know if a non resident can use a resident ticket for Disney parks? If our parents(florida residents) buy resident tickets for us and the grandkids, can we get in the parks or will we need to show a florida ID?
Thanks,

You will need to show Florida ID.

From the ticket sticky at the top of this forum regarding Florida Resident Tickets:

Almost all MYW tickets are discounted for Florida Residents. Proof of residency is required when purchasing tickets, and upon first use. This includes the showing of a government-issued photo ID such as a Driver's License or state-issued ID card.

Disney's official rule is that non-residents may not use Florida resident tickets.

Now Disney does allow students attending school in Florida and servicemen stationed in Florida to get and use resident tickets. Here the person is residing in Florida even though he remains registered to vote and keeps his car registered in a different state.

Last summer a family came to my window to pick up some prepaid Florida Resident tickets. One person (the one who had ordered and paid for the tickets online) had Florida ID, but she also had an AP. The rest of the family lived in (and had ID from) Texas. After all was sorted out they had to pay a few hundred dollars more on the spot for the six of them to get non-resident tickets with the same entitlements.

Thanks for the info! I will tell the parents not to buy them. I know they have the 4 day dream pass with hopper for $99 pp. A lot better than $100 PER DAY for non resident. I guess they know who the tourist are!!

Egads...you should NOT be paying that per day for any ticket, except for 1 or two day tickets with park hopping or WPFM options...

Non-FL- Resident WDW tickets cost much less than $100 a day.

An adult 4-day base ticket costs approx. $56.25 per day.
An adult 4-day HOPPER ticket costs approx. $69.25 per day.

An adult 6-day base ticket costs approx. $38.50 per day.
An adult 6-day HOPPER ticket costs approx. $47.20 per day.

An adult 10-day base ticket costs approx. $24.30 per day.
An adult 10-day HOPPER ticket costs approx. $29.50 per day.

.

1) I have had residents come to my desk to buy resident tickets.
2) Once I saw them and their ID, no problem.
3) In fact,
. . . their names were printed on the tickets.
. . . their addresses are typed into the computer
4) Some, then try to also buy tix for their out-of-state friends.
5) Without seeing them AND THEIR FLORIDA ID, no can do.
6) Some even ranted and raved, but to no avail.
7) That is cheating the system, and I do not !

EDITORIAL NOTE: I do not know why people try to cheat the system and cheat Disney. If you cannot afford the prices, then don't go until you can. Simple.

I keep waiting for my FL resident family to offer to buy us tickets for our first WDW trip this year...I'm quite sure the offer is going to come, and they will tell me I'm wrong when I tell them it won't work.

So we're buying tix as soon as possible, to just avoid the conversation altogether.
