Using pts. for the Contemporary

We are still waiting for the resale to come through (hopefully by January) and wanted to know about how many pts you need to stay in the Contemporary tower. We love the 2 br villas and can't wait to get the chance to book one, but thought one year it might be nice to spend a few nights in one of the Tower rooms overlooking the Magic Kingdom all night. Thanks.

When are you planning on going? The rates vary from 37/67 during Value Season to 54/97 during Holiday Season.

(The 2nd number is for Fri and Sat night stays).

My pat answer to any question like this is to use cash, the value lost with your points is very high. You will save money by using cash or perhaps I should say value.

Since it is a resale, it is possible that there are banked points that need to be used quickly. That was our situation when we considered a stay at a non-DVC resort.

We also still like to vacation at the other non-DVC resorts but never use DVC points to do so. We always use cash and a discount like AP rates for those stays. As others have said the point values are very high for non-DVC resorts.
