I am going on the Disney Wonder 8/19/04 and wanting to stay near the port the night before. Has anyone used Priceline? Can anyone recommend a hotel to stay at and what area am I looking for? Has anyone used Priceline to rent a car from Orlando?

We used priceline for our hotel stay in Feb.....we stayed at the cocoa beach Doubletree for 39.00 per night!!!

I can't remember if I put in for 3 stars or 4 stars...probably 3 star. I checked out all the hotels in the area first thru expedia first to make sure I would be happy with any of them and then I put my bid into priceline...doubletree came out and it was fine.

The regular price of a room at the time of our stay thru Doubletree's website was $90.00 a night so I was happy with $39.00

Priceline does not do one way rentals, but Hotwire has links for one way and we have gotten the best rate from their site for Budget.

Check out the website www.biddingfortravel.com .

It lists the hotels you could get for each area and provides tons of info that would help bid. Like the lowest people have bid in the past and what hotel they got.

Very helpful!

We've used Priceline for hotels several times, and always had a good experience. I've paid from $31 - $35 a night for rooms in 3* hotels around MCO or the port. Of course, you add tax and a Priceline charge of about $7 to that. The Priceline charge is a "one time" thing for the booking, not per night....so when I used them to get a room for a week for a conference, it was still about that same $7 fee or about $1 per night!

www.biddingfortravel is the best source I know for info on Priceline bidding.
