So I was told by reservations that if I'm staying at a resort and my brother who lives in Florida comes to visit with his two girls that as long as pool is not at compacity the two girls can swim. How correct is that?

Only if they are added to your reservation. If you don't have the occupancy left in your villa to add them, they cannot swim in the resort pool. The pools are reserved for registered guests of that resort.

If you are staying at WL, they only have one pool open at this time and it is going to be full. If you are staying at CBR, the main pool is usually packed.

Reservation CMs know a lot about reservations. Unfortunately, they're a terrible source of information about resort policies and are frequently wrong.

The resorts' pool use policies are quite clear, and are posted on signs at the pools: the pools are for the use of registered guests of the hotel only. This is enforced at the pools, either by the use of gates that you have to scan a magic band to open, or by random checks by resort personnel.

You have two options in this situation.

1) Add your visiting family members to your reservation.

2) If asked, the lifeguards will sometimes grant permission for guests to bring outside guests to the pool. This is entirely at the lifeguard's discretion, and can't be done in advance. They'll make the determination based on the current conditions at the pool.

Hmmm that's what I thought but not the answer I'm getting when I called.

Just remember that those CMs don't work in property, probably arent in Orlando let alone Florida, and might not have ever been to wdw.

Their words don't govern how the resorts are run.

Yea I hear you. What I might do is just ask the front desk while I'm there I'm sure if I get there okay and then have my family show up they won't make me have them leave after already giving me the okay from their staff

You would be asking the wrong people. The front desk has no control over the pools. They fall under the life guards who can overrule the front desk and can ask your relatives to leave if they are not on your reservation. If you are at the WL, there is only one pool open there and it is too crowded to bring in extra people. Just take your relatives to the water parks, but everyone will need admission there.

I did type WL I meant kidani animal kingdom I'm sure same rules apply but I'll take my chances and true front desk probably can't give the okay so I'll ask the life guard. I mean I'm not going to swim or my wife so my two nieces are just taking our spots but then again I know why the rules are there

Kidani is even worse. Both of the AKL/AKV pools are not permitted for pool hopping by DVC members because they are too small to handle all the guests at both the locations. So that should tell you about the situation there. It can be hard to find a chair at KV pool.

Also, nothing personal at all, but it is annoying to those who are paying a lot of money to stay at the resorts to just have other people come on in. Resort guests are entitled to enjoy less crowded pools if the resort isn't booked to capacity.

I won't do it again, but question, not trying to debate, but I see where it states, now that you point it out leisure pool at beach club is a no, how would they know, there was no life guard at the pool, and we were the only ones in the pool. So if there is no lifeguard and no one checkin bands like at SAB, than how can they even monitor the no pool hopping to leisure pools. I'm not sure any leisure pools has life guards. Like I say not debating, now that I see it is a no, I will go to BWI, my DGD liked those pools way better anyway. But it would really be a hard rule for Disney to monitor if there are no lifeguards so why have the rule.

How would they know? You'll know. That's it.

Because most people are honest and do follow the rules. But this way of thinking is why many pools do have locked, Magic Band access only gates now.

Look at this way: why do they have stop signs at intersections if they can't post a policeman at every one to enforce the rule? Because the sign is necessary to improve safety at that intersection, and it's assumed that drivers will obey the law and stop. The great majority do.

Same thing with the pool sign. It's assumed that those passing by will obey the rule and not go in the pool if they're not a resort guest. And most do.

So, we booked a Cars suite at AoA and one of my children found out about the "computer pool" at Pop Century. I know people often ask about going from PC to AoA but do you think there is any chance we would be able to go and swim in the computer pool at PC (no pun intended)?

No, because they're not "sister" resorts. (The All Star resorts are sister resorts, as are POR and POFQ.)

The computer pool is a square pool with a couple of painted, raised (maybe six inches?) keyboards on the pool surround. Genuinely nothing special.
