Using Points to buy/renew Sorcerer Annual pass

So, I can pay the $100 fee or whatever it is, then use OTUP, which I can then get as BOGO towards the pass? If so, I will be doing this in October if this stays the same.

Yes you can get MMB for $100 then pay $240 for 12 points and get 12 more free, for 24 total OTUP

if i rent mine out for $15 pp that's $975

this scenario is $340 plus 41 points ($615 at $15 pp) for a total of $955.

vs renting the points and paying cash

just to figure true "cost"

does MMB really provide that much value?

You also have to consider if any of the other benefits are of importance but if you want to rent, and deal with that, the savings might not be thst great

For me, being able to use points for the AP is saving me the cost of what I was paying for it as I don’t want to deal with renting.

If I used BOGO free points, which I will now, I think it just adds to it.

If I am understanding this, I can buy the BOGO points & pay the $100 fee for MMB, then turn around & use those points to buy the Annual pass? Has anyone tried this and it has worked?

My AP ends in November, my next trip in October. I'm guessing this needs to be done on the phone and not in a park
at GS, is this also correct?

If you are going to renew using points, you have to call MS. You can renew at WDW, but you will have to pay by cash or card.

ggrrr, I just looked and I will be 11 points shy for the renewal. I'm guessing I could try to get a transfer in closer to my renewal date of 11 points if someone would end up doing that on the board. GGRRR

i do rent my points yearly, about 12 to pay my dues. guess I neeed to determine if the mmb is worth it to start

Yes, I did this. I signed up for MMB online. Then I called and in the same phone call I bought 12 BOGO OTUP for $240 and renewed our passes with those 24 OTUP plus some of our own.

Hi, looking for the "Pro's" thoughts on this. I need to renew my Pass in May for a May trip. We are using the annual pass discount on a cash stay. My question is is it worth $100 buck & 65 points to renew it? We will not be traveling again this year, probably. Definitely, would not be a points trip. "Maybe" next May before this new pass would expire.
Basically, I would be using 65 pts that I would not use until 2027. Sorry a little rambling....

75 points for a new pass and 65 points for a renewal.

There was no tax applied. I called to purchase and paid the $240.00 with a Disney gift card.

Can you purchase the OTUP just to be used to buy the AP? You didn't have to play games with the OTUP being used for a room reservation first - you could just buy the points specifically to put them towards the AP?
