Using Points in Holdig

I modified a trip within the 30 day window and now have 3 annoying points in holding. I have another trip booked for January - is there any easy way to make sure the 3 points get used for that reservation? Will the system automatically recognize it?

No, the system will not automatically use those points. They're only valid for reservations booked within 60 days of arrival. You'll need to modify your reservation between 31 and 60 days out to ensure they're used. In theory, a room needs to be available in order to use the holding points. With the way modifying works, you might just need to go through the motions.

I had 40 points in holding. I just modified a 60 day out December reservation to the exact same reservation and it used the 40 points. I then went to bank them and only 32 were bankable, I did not know this and am still not sure why. I called and member services worked some magic and was able to reallocate and bank them all.
